Côte Barbican

Lovely food, atmosphere and service but a slight hiatus when one of us didn't get their food until the others had almost finished. We are regular customers because we very much appreciate the gluten free menu on offer. The issue with the food was probably because it was just a busy night - never happened before.

Last visit was a definite 5, this was 5 only because we now know to never sit at this particular table at at pinch-point again (the Barbican location) as it was like being on a busy street corner with people rushing by from all directions: staff are adept at not running in to you, however customers aren’t and were a pain in the neck, literally. Good menu having broad choice with the food prepared and served well. Plenty of attentive staff who do their job well, so service excellent. Has a lot going for it.

Visited Côte Barbican after a show at the Barbican Theatre, as the restaurant filled up with many people after the performance. We were greeted very pleasantly by the hostess and seated immediately. We chose from the set menu and the meal came very quickly despite the fact that the restaurant was virtually full. The food was excellent and the price was good value for money. Our server was also very attentive. We will return soon.

Good service and very nice meal. We were served at a good pace and had time for three courses before going to the Barbican theatre.

Yet another great meal at Cote - absolute bargain. 2 courses delicious food for £12.85. Despite restaurant being fully booked to cater for concert goers, service was excellent. Staff polite and friendly

As always, the food at Cote Barbican was excellent and the service admirable. The staff are friendly and efficient. This is the best place to come if you are visiting any of the arts venues around the Barbican.

Excellent and good value as always Good service tasty food. Pleasant atmosphere. Some other diners noisy unfortunately. Restaurant opposite Barbican ideal before concert. Will be coming again for next concert in May.

Always excellent. Good value and friendly. Choice of à la carte or two daily menus. Lots of options and tap water served with no fuss.

Always nice to visit after a concert at the Barbican. Only inconvenience is that the licencing rules prohibit sale of drinks after 10:30 PM and the staff are frequently too busy to point this out...

Manager super helpful and went out of her way to look after us. Other staff a little less on the ball! Food good and a,though out of one of our dishes, I quite like that as it shows it’s all freshly cooked.

Only restaurant in the area which does good food consistently with good service at a reasonable price. Never walk out dissatisfied. Definitely recommend the whole menu

Always reliable with good food, friendly staff and a quick turnaround if you let them know you have cinema/theatre/concert tickets and need to be away quickly. Have eaten there many,many times.

Cote offers good quality no nonsense food at reasonable prices in a bright, busy space with friendly and attentive service. Have eaten here a number of times and have always been happy.

Lunch at Côte Barbican was excellent from greeting to leaving, as always. Since its arrival Côte restaurants have been consistently a level above the other 'chains', based on my visits to Barbican, Blackheath, Cambridge, Charlotte Street, Covent Garden, Hays Galleria, Market Place, St Martin's Lane and Wardour Street, at least. I haven't tried the others yet.

I use Côte all the time but sadly our experience at the Barbican wasn’t up to their usual standard. We dined early at 4.45 to be told a couple of items had run out, 2 items had to be sent back as they weren’t cooked properly and some sides were forgotten! Service was polite and friendly as usual and manager as a way of apologising did reduce our bill to reflect the overall experience, so I’ll def try again hopefully it was just a 1 off x

Friendly and efficient staff always make a visit to Cote Barbican a pleasant experience. The food is reliable, well cooked and presented. The place to meet friends before a concert especially if the meeting was a surprise one.

We often eat here at Côte Barbican and are never disappointed. Last night we tried the cassoulet for the first time, rather nervously, as it is not always an easy one to pull off outside of France. However, this one was excellent, and above all authentic, although we'd have preferred a duck leg to a duck wing. The crême caramel (their signature dessert) was its usual unctuous self.

The service was efficient and the menus gave lots of choice. It was pre-theatre time and very busy, so we were glad we had booked.

we have eaten at a number of cotes restaurants and never been disappointed . there is always the same high level of staff, service and excellent value for money. we shall continue to visit cote whenever we have the chance.

The service was excellent even though the restaurant was full. The atmosphere is very cosy and the acoustics good. Food well up to Cote's usual high standard.

Good value, food always well prepared, nicely presented. In spite of it being a large commercial restaurant, the service was friendly yet professional. The staff is good about getting us out in time for the theatre, without making us feel rushed.

Some good seasonal dishes on the menu. As always plenty of choice. Also, the opportunity to try the new non alcoholic distilled drink. Excellent value for money.

Almost perfect as usual, only problem green beans were very hard.but this was promptly dealt with by our waitress. alternate veg was provided. Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice friendly restaurant have visited quite a few branches , meal ok steak over cooked and waited quite a while for this but to be fair restaurant was packed

As ever we enjoyed our meal ar Cote and were very impressed with the service, as it was New Year's Eve and they were very busy with pre-concert goers, as it was the Barbican. Food was excellent too!

The Cote at the Barbican is excellent,also had Christmas day at Cote Sloane Sq. Excellent value, food & service. Have been going to other Cote restaurants and have always found them to be of high standard.

I adore this restaurant it never fails me it has everything going for it, it looks attractive the staff are consistently lovely and the food is great and very good value. Bravo

Although the staff were polite and did their best they were overworked. There were not enough staff to cope. The food was reasonable if a little dry and over cooked. Thexwater was charming despite being far too rushed

Good. Staff courteous, and food acceptable, including complimentary cocktail . Less noisy than on some other occasions. Will certainly return. Prices reasonable compared with other restaurants.

Easy to find from Barbican tube & good location for the Barbican Centre. Pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff & good service. The choice & quality of food very good.

Charcuterie platter is outstanding. Too bad they ran out of roasted pork belly - my companion had the last one- but gave me the opportunity of trying the tasty Breton Fish Stew. Surprised something Breton should involve so much tomato but it was very tasty. Our waiter seemed to disappear so we gave up on the idea of sharing one of Côte’s excellent Crème Brûlée’s. That was probably the right decision as portions are always pleasingly generous. Don’t know how anyone can get through the 3-course Christmas menu.

We arrived early but wonderful hostess found a table for us. Set menu a fantastic deal, food delicious. Great value for money. Wonderful ambience and service.

Always a good atmosphere, good food and swift friendly service even though the place was packed.. This is the best Cote, and lucky for me it’s my local.

Good food but very busy when we went and a bit chaotic. Dishes arrived a bit randomly with side dishes missing until near the end of the main course.

A great place for a bite to eat before a trip to the Barbican. The pre-theatre menu is excellent value for money and the food is always good.

I ended up alone because the person I was supposed to meet for dinner was I’ll but the staff at Cote at the Barbican we’re welcoming, the service was sympathetic. They were friendly and the food good. An enjoyable evening.

On Top Form! I've found Cotes can be rather hit and miss recently, but tonight at the Barbican branch was spot-on for a quick pre-concert supper. Friendly, charming and efficient service, and the roasted cod with lentils was perfect. My friend enjoyed his risotto. We didn't have any complaints at all.

Excellent eating place if you’re visiting the Barbican. Service is always quick & efficient if you’re pushed for time. Food & drink quality very good. Excellent value.

The restaurant is incredibly noisy. We could barely hear ourselves talk, and we were by the window. Service was slow and we felt they were doing us a favour. When I asked for “ordinary tea” the waiter rattled off a number of varieties, eventually saying English breakfast like it was some sort of joke (he was not English). I had to ask for milk to go in it twice.

An attractive restaurant with a welcoming and attentive staff very well positioned very close to the Barbican's entertainment hub. The food is of a good quality at reasonable prices. A pre threatre 2 or 3 course dinner is an excellent option.
