Côte Amersham

As usual the food was excellent but the service was extremely slow. Staff very pleasant but the food was a long time coming in spite of the fact that we arrived early in the evening and the restaurant was nearly empty.

Very good service. Our waitress was very polite and efficient.

All 3 of us were rather awkwardly seated at TWO tables in a bay window with another table rather close. However! the food was great as usual-------we'll come again! Regards, Joan & John Davies & daughter Claire.

Food was good, but women's toilet was not clean so spoilt our overall experience

Felt that today's visit wasn't as good an experience as previous occasions. The hot starters were served promptly but we had quite a wait for the mains to arrive. Also ordered a side of carrots, which we had to send back to the kitchen, as they were mostly only lukewarm! It was obvious when they were brought back that they had just microwaved them rather than bringing out a completely new side of HOT carrots. I would have expected better given previous Cote visits! We found the restaurant quite noisy today, which I appreciate you can't do a lot about, but at times was not THAT easy to hold a conversation with my lunch companion. This is the 2nd time we have found the noise levels to be a tad excessive :-( It won't put us off revisiting ....... just hope the next visit is like previous occasions and not like today's experience.

Welcoming staff, complimentary cocktail was excellent. Service was unrushed but timely and staff very friendly. Food was delicious especially the October Specials. Slight error with the bill, quickly rectified. Would have preferred not to have the 'discretionary 12.5%' tip already added to the bill on presentation. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience,

Our waiter was helpful and friendly. However we found the food quite slow to arrive and when our mussels did arrive they were almost cold and a much smaller portion than we’ve had at cote before. They used to be served in a pot with a lid on which was much better as it kept the juices in and kept them warm. We mentioned this and the manager offered us complimentary desserts which was a nice touch. Unfortunately though it did feel like the standard of food had slipped since our previous visit. We also felt the pissaladiere was quite dry like it had been reheated. The onion soup was also only lukewarm.

Lovely family evening for 10. Choice of food was great, service extremely quick and friendly, food was served so attractively and tasted great. We really had a most enjoyable meal. Thank you.

Very nice venue, food excellent. Staff charming especially the manager. One point, “what do you want” and “Do you want” should maybe replaced with “What would you like” or “what may I get for you” language is so important especially to we “oldies”!

Normally I would give 4/5 stats but didn't feel this last visit was as good. Very slow to take our order, although my breakfast was reasonably hot the poached eggs were much cooler and generally tables etc were not being cleared at the usual efficiency. It was quite busy and the staff were friendly. Cote is one of my favourite places to visit day or evening and the standard of service and food excellent. Just a bit disappointing this time. We will however be going back.

I enjoy Cote's menus, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Not waiting too long between courses. The restaurant was very busy, which made it very noisy, and the staff a bit less attentive. Not entirely their fault, or anybody else's fault. However I did sit with an empty glass for quite some time and was not asked if I wanted another drink. I will visit a Cote again, but try and choose a less busy time when I am sure the experience will be much better and more in line with my previous great experiences.

Very good and attentive staff. Have visited before but was disappointed in my meal this time. steak tartare was poorly presented, looked very unapertizing and the bread served with it was dry and hard to eat. Ciabatta I think.

Very long wait for wine to come to the table, had to send the fries/chips back as they were tepid. My main course (bass) was tasty but again tepid and another diner in my party thought his mussels were meager in size, not very meaty. In general the meal was not up to the standard we have been used to on all other occasions. We are regular customers at the Amersham restaurant and usually come away feeling very satisfied with the meal, however last night this was not the case. The lady manager said they were very busy and had 3 groups of people dining last night, she quoted me 100 people were expected to make up these groups: Perhaps, as a result of this, we had 3 different people attending at the table, usually we enjoy the attention of one person serving us throughout the evening. We left feeling disgruntled.

We had a lovely lunch here celebrating a birthday, service, food were lovely as always. A pleasant atmosphere with very friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble even though the restaurant was very busy. Will definitely return, great value too.

The food and service were both good but the noise levels totally ruined the evening. We were a party of 3 and had to shout to each other to try to make conversation. The level of noise was painful - it was a disappointing evening. Unfortunate as it was meant to be a celebration.

Saturday lunch time was very busy and had to wait nearly an hour for the main course. The food was excellent when it did come. Ordered coffee at the end and they were cold when arrived so fresh ones were made. Never experienced these problems before so disappointing.

As always our experience today was no different from all the other times we have dined at Cote, Amersham - the 6 stars says it all! Not only Amersham, but at other branches from Edinburgh to Exeter we have always had excellent experiences.

As usual, my friends and I had a lovely evening. Can never fault Amersham Cote. In fact I am there again next Monday with a different group of friends!

Lost order! We have never had to wait so long for our main course and the waitress owned up to having forgotten to key in our order. If my husband hadn't gone in search of our food, we may still have been waiting. Disappointing - and marred our enjoyment of the whole evening.

The food was good but the toilet was so dirty ...it ruined the whole experience!

Food was amazing. Service excellent. We were a tanker of 11 and everything was cooked to order and arrived in to.e and perfectly.

Lovely food just the right size portions. Enjoyed the complimentary cocktail. Everything up to Côte’s usual standard thank you.

My request for a table by the window was fulfilled. An extra guest joined us and was accommodated. Even though staff were really busy we were pleased with the service.

Everything we wanted and expected on a wet September day.

We had the perfect table for 2 in the window and thoroughly enjoyed our 2 course lunch with a glass of wine. Always a success!

As usual the food and drink were good. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy if full.

The Prestige Lunch menu had good choice and the food was excellent. The ambience was too noisy.

Staff as friendly as ever. Service excellent. More care needed on the set menu we had. Calamari over cooked so was the haddock.
