Enjoyed our first visit there on Friday afternoon. The wine which they recommend was never tried but nice fitting foods. For that occasion, we didn't have main dishes preferring more tapas which was fantastic and difficult to leave. Will visit there shortly (actually today!)
Cigala is always lovely--the food is sophisticated, not your basic Spanish fare, but rather carefully balanced flavours and nice little twists. The service is friendly, they know their wines (and the selection is nice and well priced) and the spot is one if my favourites: a charming, quiet corner on lamb's conduit and a huge wrap-around window that allows the light in and your gaze out on to the street. And if the weather is nice, there are tables outside! It's a perfect little spot, with wonderful food.
As ever a delight. Better Tapas than many I have met in Spain. Always a bustle and warm welcome. I look forward to my next visit. Dependable.
Good good and lovely if somewhat noisy atmosphere. Great tapas with excellent wine choice. Lovely almonds olives and Fino to start.Service a bit slow but friendly.
Wonderful good, great service and a delightful afternoon. Cigale is a favourite place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. The menu is varied, well-cooked and always delicious!
Prompt service and fast delivery. The food was good and the restaurant has an old school style which we love. The deserts are not to be missed.
This was out third time at Cigsla. The quality and selection of Tapas is great. Interesting and reasonable wine list. Convivial crowd. Only drawback is slightly slow service
The food and wine were delicious. Its a simple restaurant with unpretentious decor, on a lovely lively street. Great for business meeting or friends catch up as not too loud and can hear each other speak.
The food was excellent, but the service just vanished at a certain point. We were given menus for dessert but no-one came near thereafter. After half an hour, we left, with those menus still on the table, found our way to the cashier, paid, and left. Would I go again? Perhaps.
We had a lovely meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. As ever, staff were helpful and food was plentiful and delicious! We will be back!
Excellent food and location. Came here for my birthday and was treated very well for the evening! A particular favourite is the gambas al ajillo - delicious!
Lovely fish plates, and the wine was good and fairly priced. We have been to Cigala before and we will return. I recommend Cigala as good value For money.
Great great food. Chorizo. Pardeone peppers. Chicken livers in sweet wine were awesome. Even the bread was different and delicious bLovely staff. easy atmosphere. Go there!
Good food especially the fish and the starting tapas; ambience OK, not "classy" but not too noisy. Service good with willingness to speed up to meet time schedule
Good value for money lunch with attentive service and excellent good value wine list. The tapas selection is also extremely good. The mains are competitively priced
We booked for early evening on a Saturday and this proved a great time to visit, as we had the restaurant to ourselves! Beautiful food as ever and friendly staff. One of the best places in London for authentic tapas.
Terrific classic tange of tapas. Lovely friendly service. Top class chicken paella, superb spinach with sultanas and pine nuts. Great choice of wine. Lovely neighbourhood restaurant.
Excellent - as ever. Professional and reliable. We would be very upset if they ever took the Mulhacen jelly off the dessert menu. Very good quality ingredients.
Always reliable, authentic tapas - the tortilla was particularly outstanding on this occasion - and are perfect for lunch. A good choice with a light, airy room.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Informal yet attentive service. Set menu very good value for money. Recommend the skate wing! We will be back again...
The food is always good at Cigala, and the restaurant is a lively, buzzy place to eat. We live in the neighbourhood and go there often when we want a treat!
We visited for Mother's Day lunch. They had a delightful set menu £18 for 3 courses, including paella, as well as the a la carte. We'd particularly recommend the lamb meatballs and the chocolate cake. The food was very nice, the staff friendly and helpful. We'll happily visit again.
Excellent food, an interesting wine list and friendly staff. We had the tapas; they are genuinely Spanish, and there's a wide choice. A great place for a relaxing evening out.
Mildly upset to find my reserved table had been taken by another group claiming to be me! Not the restaurant's fault. Had tapas this time to sample more dishes. The food and wine (unpronounceable Basque white) was excellent as ever. The place continues to have that happy buzz that's missing for so many other restaurants.
The food was really excellent and on the pavement outside they cook what looks like a good Paella to take away. The tables are a little close together if you're looking to have a private conversation.
Cigala is a lovely relaxed place - friendly staff, excellent tapas and sherry, and great value. This may be my new favourite restaurant. Definitely recommend.
Food nice. Portion size pretty stingy - about 15 padron peppers for £7! Service ok. And there was a bit of a draught around my back (I was sitting by the window) which wasn't ideal.
Amazing delicious food, friendly neighbourhood restaurant I would heartily recommend it, we will be back soon it is also very reasonably priced. A gem. Thank you
Really good food as always they maintain a high standard. The ginger ice-cream must be one of the best ice-creams I have ever had. Truly memorable.
Great food, pleasant staff and atmosphere. I would love to return and have a boozy extended lunch! Will definitely return and sample the rest of the menu
It was okay. Slightly slow on the service; the food was good and tasty but I wanted it to look, feel and taste fresher somehow...
We had a lovely evening really lovely food relaxed atmosphere and the service was good too. I recommend this restaurant and will definitely return again
Good friendly service and excellent food. It felt like an authentic Spanish restaurant and cheered us up on a rainy London night. We really enjoyed the paella and the atmosphere.
We visited after our daughter's graduation. I had been before with friends and enjoyed very much. The food was great and reasonably priced and the service was excellent.
Food was interesting, well served and in pleasant surroundings. The menu provided a good selection of tapas and main courses including some things for vegetarians.
Lovely food - as always. The paella was a particular favourite. Our table was a little bit cosy for three people - and the waitresses were rushed off their feet at times. But these are small points and did not detract from a great evening.
A relaxed and friendly venue. Great food reasonably priced. Felt like a corner of Spain. First visit for me but it felt as though it was full of regulars
The food was really nice and there was plenty of it although this isn't the cheapest place for Tapas. . The wine was also lovely. The restaurant was very empty, there were only 4 of us in there so it did lack atmosphere. Maybe some background music would have been nice. Will definitely be returning.
We had a lovely dinner at Cigala. The atmosphere was lively and the place was packed so we were glad we had reservations. We had the octopus, the grilled squid, the crab, the razor clams, the aubergine and the lamb meatballs. Everything was very tasty and well prepared. My only (small) gripe is that the service was not particularly attentive. No one ever came to our table to take care of us spontaneously. Instead we had to flag a waiter/waitress down for everything - menu, extra tapas order, check. However, once we did flag someone down they took care of what we needed quickly.
Disappointing experience. Despite going on a very quiet evening (only 5 other tables), the waitress forgot our order of wine and water, then we waited 1 hour to have our food order taken (not even offered an olive). We ordered tapas which was nice enough but again the waitress forgot one of our dishes. This level of service when very busy is understandable (although not good), but they really were not at all busy on this week night in Feb. The positive was the the staff were polite and friendly and the food was nice and well cooked.
Excellent lunch in a comfortable airy room. The food is top notch and the Spanish wine list comprehensive. Very good and prompt service. Highly recommended.
Great tapas items and good service but I would recommend avoiding the paella with chicken. It tasted good but boy, is it way overpriced for what you get.
Great food. All dishes were tasty and filling, despite only ordering a couple of starters each. LOVED the spinach. The only issue is that as it's Dry January having only sweet fizzy drinks or water available was a tad disappoint. A zero alcholhol beer (that the Spanish do so well) would have been great. BUT the food is lovely and that's the main thing.
At Cigala we had a nice Saturdau lunch in a plesant environment. Friendly service, good food in nice portions and the very reasonable eeekend lunch offer ate a winning combination. We will go back.
The restaurant has a good range of tapas and other dishes. The lunch special menu is served into the early evening which gives a wider choice. The service is friendly. There are tables outside for warm summer evenings.
There was a good selection of food, all that we sampled was very tasty and fresh. The vegetarian in our party was happy with the selection available to him as well. We were a bit squished in a corner, but they were extremely busy, which is usually a good sign of a fab restaurant.
This is a wonderful Spanish restaurant with fabulous tapas as well as main meals. The wine and sherry is well priced and selected. Good value in a smallish restaurant with friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Good to find somewhere open on Sunday evening. Food of reasonable quality, nothing special, but priced rather high. Wine more sensibly priced with a good selection available by the glass or in 500ml carafes. Quiet, but may be different during the week.
excellent food, service a bit hit and miss but the Tapas came quick and was really good , nice friendly staff nothing fussy just good food
Tapas very nice . Seafood paella had a generous amount of fish and seafood but the rice was mixed with a tomato sauce and was not tasty . We spend half our time living in Spain and this didn't taste like an authentic paella to us .
