Favourite Spanish restaurant in London. Clean, bright, cool, no huge fuss, reasonable prices for mains, selection of appropriate wines. Ate too much paella, as always :-)

Cigala is one of my favourite places. I love the location, the big windows, the outside tables. And usually the service and the food. But last night was pretty mediocre. The food was no more than OK. Over the past 6 months, I feel it hasn't been as good. The mains still hang in there, but the small bites/tapas menu is not what it used to be. Less flavourful, less zingy. But above all, Cigala was always a place of not just friendly service, but also knowledgeable service. The wine recommendations always spot on, the dishes arriving in good order. Last night's waitress was a perfectly lovely woman but utterly useless as a waitress--didn't know the menu, couldn't pick a wine, forgot the cutlery... just not a waitress! I'll be coming back because Cigala is lovely - but it needs to pull its socks up!

Perfectly prepared and delicious Spanish food for all kinds of eaters, meat, fish, vegetarian all good value and the atmosphere is quiet, service friendly and the house white is excellent!

Service ‘smiley’ but short staffed so thin on the ground. Maybe unusual but on my visit they were out of stock of 30% of white wines at the cheaper end. Probably wouldn’t recommend to friends but ok

Great food and service! Will definitely go again and this is a regular place for us, as it is near our workplace. Ham croquettes were the best!

Poor service, kitchen not properly ventilated so whatever was cooking flooded the dining room with overwhelming smells. Understaffed and inattentive. Staff paid no attention to my food allergy indicated in original booking and subsequently in house. Food was no better than okay. I normally don't bother with a review when it is disappointing, but this was exceptional in that regard. Sorry.

Good food but very slow service. That is all I have to say. I do not want loyalty points and I do not want further emails.

Overall a nice place with good service and stylish interior Having just spent 9 days in rural Spain the food was nearly as good Unfortunately I had to send my main course back as it was undercooked Yes would visit again if I was in the area

I'm an occasional diner at Cigala and the food is always superb. From the bread and oil, through chicken livers and gambas, the preparation and taste is very, very good. The sherry and wine list is also a joy. This time I went for the (pricey) Negre de Negres, which is probably about the best wine Spain can offer today. For me, a destination choice in the always enjoyable Lambs Conduit.

A nice experience. A quiet period mid afternoon so easy to pick a good table and the service and quality out of the kitchen were hard to fault. Not the cheapest restaurant by any means and the wine list too but worth it.

Sadly, as a regular, Cigala is sinking. No owner to take charge in sight, over priced menu, dreary feel to plates, kitchen forgot the job

Excellent authentic Spanish tapas; high quality wine list. Friendly and efficient service, A relaxed atmosphere. What's not to like? Highly recommended for everyone, whether eating out on your own or in a group.

Very good food with a lot of variety - well prepared, very good quality ingredients. Lamb chops, beet soup, several tapas - spinach, home style little cod fritters, shrimp, eggplant.

Good food, good service, and nice environment. Would recommend for a working lunch. Lunch express menu was also reasonable value for money and good quality.

Service was extremely welcoming and friendly. Wine list well chosen if a little on the high side starters were mean - tiny amounts of second rate manchego and ham. The paella de carne was well made if a little deficient in carne.

Always love Cigala, great food and an even better wine list. On a sunny evening sitting outside on beautiful Lambs Conduit Street there is nowhere better.

Wonderful Spanish food and wine. The classics in tapas and main dishes and some unusual offerings, plus a very good Spanish wine list and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Had lunch with client. Great food and wine. Tapas for starters and then Skate, Dover Sole and Pollo Ensalade for mains! Definitely go back again!

The service was very good and the staff friendly, but the food was poor, it lacked flavour and the paella was very disappointing for the price paid, I would not return.

Lovely fresh tapas and very drinkable house wine. Very friendly and helpful service too. Apparently I have to say more than this, but I don't need to!

The menus changes changes according to the season. The wine list is good. The service is excellent – the lovely waitress knew the menu and wine list very well. Great food, great service.

Last of the season's calcots with the best Romesco sauce ever tasted, followed by flawless arroz negro. Bravo Ciglala! Service was a little erratic, but barely registered in the grand scale of top cooking.

Enjoyable as ever. Great value set lunch. No need to add more. Good friendly service. Pleasantly busy but not too much so atmosphere. Very reliable.

Always have a delicious and relaxing meal here - today was certainly no exception! Delicious meatballs, chicken, mixed salad and of course, padron peppers! We continue to return!

Beautifully prepared food and cheerful, attentive staff - we have been away from London for six years and are delighted that Cigala is still producing the goods.

Booked the restaurant on the recommendation of a friend for a Sat at 6pm. The food was absolutely outstanding, definitely one of the nicest meals I have had in a while. The service was attentive. I liked the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, as it's rather unpretentious. Will definitely go back.

Cigala is one of the great London restaurants. Utterly free from pretension-this is pure food and a real sense of joy about cooking. Whenever there's Sardines on the menu-have them-done perfectly like this , a real treat.

Friendly, lovely food. Recommended. Great tapas which are good sized and tasty. As close to the that I have had in Spain. One constructive point, looks a bit basic (but clean). I will certainly try & go back next time in London.

Relaxed ambience, lovely lighting, good acoustics, delicious freshly cooked tapas, friendly and efficient service - what's not to like? i've always enjoyed Cigala - I recommend it.

Deklicious tapas - really succulent food well erved with a good wine selction - the Piorat was excellent. Godd atmosphere and very pleasant attentive but not instrusive service.

Excellent food with great variety. Great wine and great service. Highly recommended for a realaxed great quality meal. We were too full for paella but they also looked amazing.

Lovely restaurant, good menu with wide range of options. The tapas selection was great and well cooked and presented. Service friendly and good. From the outside the restaurant looks a bit plain - no art on walls.

Great original tapas, fine wine selection, pleasant simple surroundings, good value and considerate staff - even recovered a lost scarf for us. Have visited several times over the years.

We went as a party of 10 for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious, the service was spot on and the final cost was very reasonable. I would happily recommend this restaurant.

Lovely and very attentive service, good value for money and nice relaxed environment

We had the chicken & chorizo paella which was nice, but for the price of £22 per person it seems a bit much. The service was quite slow especially considering it was lunch time and there were only 4 tables around. The toilets really need to be upgraded and refurbished. I would probably go again to try the tapas as they looked good, but few improvements should be made.

Great restaurant, food and service both excellent, can’t fault it. Really worth a visit, location is off the tourist trail so very pleasant evening. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Everything was really good, except the seafood paella. There was very little seafood in it, and the sauce was too tomatoey (couldn't taste any saffron).

Compared to my visit last year, I was very disappointed : the prices are very high for the quality received. The prices of the wines are huge : for a simple spanish wine (Haritz) asking 10 times the retail price is not acceptable.
