Chime - Hartford

Lovely fresh food with a good selection on the menu. Great atmosphere with helpful and friendly staff. Definitely a regular place to visit in Hartford.

Very friendly & attentive staff. The flavour and quantity of the portions are wonderful. More veggie options (off the set Sunday menu) would have been appreciated by my friend. Overall another really enjoyable meal at Chime!

Great atmosphere and super service. The food was delicious and my partner said the chimes crispy beef was the best he had tasted . Definitely recommend.

Special occassion- Aunty’s Birthday. Table has a small plaque decorated saying ‘Happy Birthday’. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Flatbreads👌🏽👌🏽 Would deffo come back again. Gorgeous little restaurant. Thank you all so much for making our day so special!! Xx

We eat regularly at the chime and having the chateaubriand tonight with a nice red wine truly was delightful, the service was excellent and very welcoming.

The menu read better than it delivered. Even though not particularly busy they managed to miss my husbands starter so the other 3 of us were finished ours before he started. My main and another guests main were cold so had to be sent back which meant again the other two guests mains were finished before we started. They closed the bar at 10.30pm on a Saturday? My impression the staff just wanted to hurry things along so they could get home. They knocked the late starter and the two cold main meals from the bill but really we all just wanted to enjoy our food together. A great shame as we had great expectations.

Mocktails were brilliant however the vegetarian meal (Puy Lentil) was very bland tasting and very salty. There was way too many lentils in the dish - probably around 3 portions - and few other ingredients. I did mention it to the waiter however he just said oh and walked off to clean tables. Bit of a shame as it was brilliant when I visited a few years ago.

Booked to eat here with friends on 21st December. Lively atmosphere, superb food and the girls who were serving us that night were very helpful and friendly. Overall a top night!

Family trip to Chime, all was excellent, drink selection, food, service all great

Very good food, pleasant helpful service and a welcoming environment. Both the sea bass on Mediterannean stir fry vegetables and the Sunday roast pork and the trimmings were very enjoyable.

We arrived at chime at 6 to be told our table wasn’t ready and to wait in an already crowded bar area. We were seated but than had to wait over 1 hour for our food order

Food was generally nice, service was slow and we weren't made aware of the 2 hour time limit before hand and were then made to feel pressured to hurry up towards the end. Cocktails and atmosphere were good!

Really lovely food and nice atmosphere. Had the chilli beef noodles and they were yum. Even with a staff member down the young lady couldn’t do enough for you and was dashing round doing her best to ensure everyone was ok. Wouldn’t hesitate to return again.

Great food very enjoyable good selection from menu, service slow 3/4 of hour to order, though waiting on staff very pleasant and helpful will be back again

Brilliant as usual, had the turkey roast which was great, some places are a bit tight with the meat and gravy, but here you get plenty!

Food was excellent although the service was really slow. We visited in the run up to Christmas and it was busy; however there was only 1 waitress covering upstairs. You would think that given the time of year, staff numbers would reflect the busy time of year.

Nice plates. Friendly atmosphere. Had the wings and fish&chips. The tartare sauce should be put into a more convenient pot so that we can enjoy it :-) Surely will come back next time I’m in Northwich !! Strongly recommended

Staff always friendly, food choice is great, and menu changed regularly. A lovely atmosphere to spend time with family or friends. Cocktails are definitely worth sampling.

The service was extremely slow! We sat down at 5:15 and didn’t receive our meal until 6:00, the drinks took a long time to arrive also. Finally, I got up and asked for the bill rather than wait another half an hour to get that. Staff seemed to be slightly too young and lacking in professionalism; their lack of knowledge of the food and wine became evident fairly early on. Food when it eventually arrived however, was fantastic.

Lovely early Eve roast turkey dinner the only fault was that our portions were rather small. Tastefully decorated dining area and great service with a smile .

Really nice place to eat and drink ,we had Sunday roasts which were delicious.Staff are very friendly and helpful,a good selection of food and drinks on the menu, only reason for a 5 and not a 6 was the food was to salty for me ,however my partner thought it was just right !

Went for lunch with my daughter and a friend from Leeds who is a recently retired chef. We were all delighted with our meal nicely presented and most of all delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only one niggle we didn’t like the tall table with high chairs no problem in moving us upstairs to a normal table. We are looking forward to dining there again.

The food was tasty and the portions just right! The service was friendly and efficient, and there was a lovely ambience. I would definitely recommend.

Food was in general very good. But was slightly let down by the burger which was a bit dry. Service was courteous. Good night out at the Chime.

Me and my friend have been eagerly waiting to try the new challenge burger and it was definitely worth the wait!

So sorry to be negative but I feel this review is justified. I took visiting friends from the south for supper on Tuesday evening. Two of us chose pizzas which were served on cold platters and in consequence did not stay warm. The onion and peppers on the top were raw, far to crunchy for a pizza, more suited to a side salad. I have had the pizzas at Chime several times before, always delicious so I recommended this choice and felt very embarrassed. I did speak to our waitress about my disappointment.

Had a lovely meal at Chime for my birthday. Staff, food and service were all excellent. Very good choice on the menu. Prices very reasonable.

great night celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday with family. Had a new member of staff(his first day) yet we were still welcomed and the service and food were great.

The restaurant was busy on our visit and had to wait a while to be seated even though the table had been booked. Once seated and our drinks and food order was taken all was fine. The food was delicious and the service was very good.

Loved the food. Would have preferred the music to start a little later, so it would have been easier to talk as we ate. We'll definitely be visiting again

Booked restaurant and requested highchair none was at table on arrival and we ended up going and getting one as staff didn’t offer. Took ages to clear plates and we had to go and ask for the bill and desert menus and they didn’t have half the deserts on the menu. Shame as we had a lovely experience a couple of weeks prior in the same place x

Lovely service again at lunchtime, good menu choice too. We had booked a table and were given a high table by the door which we didn't want but it was no trouble to put us upstairs which we preferred.

Good food , good table service but had to wait over 45mins for the main course. Would still go again though as overall good experience

Warm, friendly staff, brilliant menu, lovely food, best place for miles around. Will be back very soon, something for everyone, small or large appetites, a good range of wines and real ale.

HAve seen the quality of food slip in recent months having been coming here for several years. Still seem to train the waiting staff well.

Visited at lunchtime with husband. Lovely food with a Great sharing platter. The Drumstick cocktail was very tasty, though not unique as I had it in Chester with a drumstick lolly! Worth a visit. X

As always never fails to deliver, and as it is 2 for 1 pizza on a Tuesday even better! The service and quality up to standard too

Good atmosphere,nice food and helpful staff. There is a good selection on the menu - mains, sandwiches and puddings, although they did run out of some puds which was a bit disappointing. Cocktails lovely although would like a little less ice.

Really friendly lady served us and kitchen accommodated my dietary limitations. Nice atmosphere although small so when busy I think it would be very compact as seating is close to other tables

Took my 2 daughters and their friend for Sunday lunch, as always the staff were attentive and the food was delicious, we all decided it was the best mashed potato. Love having Chime just round the corner, will be returning soon.
