Ranked in order with narrow margins are: superb staff, delicious food with plenty to chose from and very pleasant surroundings. The puddings are big, maybe too big.

Great evening - food, drinks and service all first class. Lewis & Olivia looked after us really well- both excellent in their jobs. We will return soon to this gem of a place in Hartford

Pretty average food which was slightly over priced. Nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. Would recommended for a drink or two but that’s about it.

Always brilliant food, drinks and great service. My roast did not come with Yorkshire and ask the server and she sorted it straight away with no hesitation.

The food was lovely but the strict 2 hour per table is difficult if you are looking for a leisurely get-together or special family occasion. Perhaps choose your menu before you arrive or go at a quieter time? That said, we couldn't fault the service - the staff were so friendly, efficient and incredibly helpful. We will definitely come back soon.

Food was lovely for main course but nobody could be tempted by the choice of desserts - environment is a little too noisy for our party. Staff were attentive, we had a great night.

Went to Chime for my birthday, I took my 10 and 8 year old daughters with me. We all had a fabulous time, the food was delicious. Definitely recommend

Loved our visit to Chime - great new menu. The food was served promptly in spite of it being s busy Friday evening. Any requests we had were sorted out straightaway. The food was fantastic as usual - recommend!

Delicious food served by friendly, cheerful staff. Great atmosphere. Superb live music which was just the right volume so we could still have a conversation without shouting whilst still listening to the songs. I highly recommend Chime as a great place to eat and relax.

Cracking restaurant - we felt well serviced in a restaurant that isn't too big and so everything feels personal. Nice, chilled out atmosphere and the food was top quality.

A delicious meal with excellent service provided by friendly attentive staff. Our party enjoyed a good quality Flat iron steak cooked exactly as requested, a tasty stacked burger and an interesting flatbread. Dirty fries are a must try and the dessert selection has a variety to suit most tastes. Reasonably priced and with a great craft beer and ale selection Chime is a great place for an evening meal with friends, family or colleagues.

A great place for a meal out, the staff are polite and helpful and the food good. The atmosphere is intimate making it great for a couple or for a family.

Great atmosphere but it was really busy which meant service was a little slow at times. The crispy beef noodles and burger were good but the tuna steak was disappointing.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would go there again and highly recommend to anyone. The flatbread pizzas are amazing and would recommend the gin cocktails.

The music was very gloomy and we don't think the singer was very good. We decided to leave and have our dessert and tea at home because we didn't like listening to him. We thought our waitress was fab.

Food was amazing and great choice too. The courgetti dish was incredible. Lovely cocktails and amazing coffee. The service was just bit slow and found it impersonal which unusual for here

Great atmosphere. Food was good would recomend to go there againn. Service was prompt the only negative was that we were told straight away that we must leave by a certain time as the table was booked. That felt awkward as we had booked also two weeks earlier and it is the only restraunt that we have ever been told before we had even sat downthat we had to leave.

What has happened to Chime? The lovely, quirky little restaurant in Hartford was a rare gem in local eateries and was a default place for birthdays, out of town family and cosy nights on our own. It was consistent, friendly and always a delight. But to my dismay, no longer. The last four visits have been a catalogue of errors compounded by failing customer service. What appears to be the manager (a young guy on April 7th when we visited) is in himself enough to put us off visiting as he has been one of the most disappointing elements of the last few visits, being off hand and on occasion down right rude, ruining our evening. I would go so far as to say that he is dragging the business down. We both work for very prestigious car manufacturers and run our own businesses off the back of it, we understand customer service roles and are the easiest people in the world to look after as we appreciate what it’s like and go out of our way to be friendly. Mistakes can be forgiven but it’s the handling of them that makes that possible. Sadly that seems to have gone from the Chime Experience along with the consistency and the happy feel. I’m very saddened to be writing this.

The Food was lovely, we had two pizzas using the Tuesday pizza offer. My only comment is that the service was slower then we expected but didn’t change our experience!

Lunchtime visit, good choice of sandwiches, wraps etc. Good service but a noticable difference in portion size depending on what you order. Nice meal and will come again.

Excellent food, cocktails and the service is above and beyond highly recommend really family friendly too my kids love make your own pizza. worth a visit

A rather underwhelming experience with uninspiring food I am afraid. We have been a few times but don’t think I will be going back again

Fantastic chimes own afternoon tea. Lovely food and service was excellent. Really peaceful atmosphere and great value for money! We even took some home as couldn’t finish it!

Service was ok but could have been better with more knowledge of the menu and offering more drinks. The food was generally good but asked for a pink steak and was cooked well done. Didn’t have the heart to tell the lovely server as everyone was super busy. One other member of the party had the corgette dish the portion was way too small for just veg was really disappointing and terrible value for money at £12. More the size of a starter or side dish compared to the other meals. Such a shame as we were recommended to visit and it ended up being very average and poor quality food.

Nice surroundings and food but service very slow. We waited over an hour for a plate of nachos and there weren’t many other people in the restaurant. I wouldn’t go again with children at lunch time because of the slow service.

Staff friendly. Food fresh but chicken on club sandwich was lacking which was a shame as what was on there was good, fries are lovely!!

Nice atmosphere, great roast dinner, friendly staff. Relatively expensive but still worth it for a decent meal. Will be going back soon I'm sure. Try it.

Had a lovely sunday lunch again on a busy Easter Sunday. The sunday roast is always as good as home, especially the roast potatoes. The bar staff made a cocktail that I requested as it wasn't on the menu which was a nice touch.
