Fantastic food, brill service and lovely atmosphere. We had the lamb rump, halloumi chips and burger - it was all delicious. Really good for catering to special dietary requests.

Went to Checkpoint for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Food was delicious and a great selection of options! Service was timely and polite. Only criticism is that the music was just a wee bit too loud. I'll definitely be back

Food was amazing. I had smoked salmon and poached eggs - probably one of the best breakfasts I have had. My daughter had the veggie breakfast which looked great.

I regularly go here for lunch. It’s casual and relaxed but the food is always very good and evidently freshly prepared.

This is a place with a lovely atmosphere. However for 2 of the 4 people it was a disappointment. Firstly, although the staff are nice, the service is really slow. We had read this in previous reviews so thought, that’s cool we’ll fill the gap with bread & olives, sadly these came along with the main meals which defeated the purpose. So I ordered the Buddah Bowl, this was fine but I was surprised it was a salad bowl as it didn’t say on the menu & was listed in a different section from the salads, I presumed the veggies would be warm. My daughter wanted the chicken miso which was unavailable so opted for the hake & loved it. My husband & son both went for burgers but couldn’t eat them as the flavour was not good, and they aren’t that fussy! The chips made up for it though, they are amazing! So basically my daughter & I would perhaps go back but the boys wouldn’t.

The menu (including drinks - soft and alcoholic) is extensive and very tantalising! Many dishes can be orders as vegetarian or vegan options if desired. The staff here were very friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of time to decide but also gave their own recommendations. Nice ambience, though the lighting was quite low. A really good dining expatience!

Service was very slow. I had to get my coffee at the end to go as I was on a lunch break from work. When I’ve been previously service has not been as slow as on this occasion. There were at least 5 staff members on duty and although the restaurant was quite busy it didn’t seem to make sense that service was so slow. Service was as always very friendly but at lunchtime quicker service/more attention paid to whether people need to order etc would be useful.

Ordered what was described as a "hearty bowl" of chicken with rice. What arrived was a bowl of greasy broth with some undercooked rice and a lump of grey stringy chicken. We weren't even given spoons until we asked! When we (politely) suggested to the waitress at the end of the meal that it would be worth clarifying that it was a broth on the menu she was very rude and said "most people ask what their dish is", and then ignored us pointedly for the rest of our stay.

Relaxed restaurant with amazing food -literally something for everyone, whether you eat meat, fish, veggie or vegan with several choices for each. Pleasant staff - busy for the festival so service was a little slow, but hey, we were with friends so we just chilled out.

We went for an early lunch before a festival show at Bristo Square. Menu options were good for either breakfast or lunch. We had pork/lamb wrap with sweet potato fries and a delicious salad with pickled strawberries, fennel and feta. Food and service were fab as was the bloody mary. would definitely return.

Great food as always with a fresh seasonal menu. The wine selection was decent and hit the right price point. Two factors lead to 4 star review was the disappointing desert. What we all expected to be panna cotta, came out as a liquid cream. Flavours were great, but just wasn't panna cotta. In addition the fire alarm kept coming on which was a shame, as that was the first time in many visits that has happened!

Trendy but relaxed, stunning food which would appeal to confirmed carnivores and gluten free/ vegan purists alike, offers include high end meat dishes with a difference as well as beautiful fresh salads. The lime Avacado cheese cake was divine. Wine is cheap and cocktails lovely. Highly recommended.

The food, atmosphere and service were fantastic. Plenty of really friendly and helpful staff. Lovely place for a working lunch. We were a table of ten locals and wil definetly be back for drinks and food at the weekend. Music was a bit too loud though and we struggled to hear those at the end of the table.
