A very ice evening with great food and excellent, friendly service. Chadwicks can always be relied upon to deliver a relaxed experience that is memorable
Another great meal and enjoyable evening and great service will be back again shortly never been disappointed yet the staff are good and help make the night
2nd time here and it doesn’t disappoint. The ambience is wonderfully relaxed yet you feel that you’re somewhere special. From the minute you arrive the customer service is very carefully considerate and the food... just wow! Can’t wait to be back again soon
Busy with Christmas revellers which made for a nice atmosphere. The braised Ox cheek was rich and delicious, hake was cooked to perfection and fish and chips done in a good crispy batter. Pannacotta all round for pudding was a winner. The staff were friendly and attentive. All in all a very good lunch had by all
Very quiet early bird meal. The duck was absolutely delicious, as were the beef cheeks. This place is always completely reliable - never had a bad meal here.
A little expensive but it is very nice. The staff are very good given advice on options on the menu. We would definately visit again
Ok but a bit pricey for a very average Sunday lunch. Beef was cooked nicely but a bit tough! Had to leave a couple of pieces on the plate after chewing them for several minutes, otherwise ok! Not a patch on Teesside Golf Club’s carvery at £8.95 a head, where you are served twice as much meat. Their beef just melts in the mouth, as well!
Great meal at Chadwicks. We both had steak due to it being Steak Night - 2 sirloin steaks with chunky chips, onion rings, tomato, peppercorn sauce and salad garnish with a bottle of wine - £50. The meal was great and we finished off with a "taste of desserts" a sample of every dessert on the menu. Great service overall and food excellent.
As always a very enjoyable evening the food as good as ever, and the staff attentive without being intrusive, we’ll be back again soon
A midweek visit on a wet and windy night. Less than full but well patronised. Food was up to its usual very good standard as were the staff.
Booked for Sunday lunch with a visitor from Germany. There was a large and noisy birthday party that dominated the restaurant and grew louder and louder as the alcohol flowed. Voices were so loud and raucous, shouting across the tables, that we couldn't hear each other over the din or carry on a normal conversation. We paid over £60 for a meal that we couldn't enjoy with no apology from the management - the waitresses did keep apologising but our restaurant experience was completely ruined. I couldn't wait to get out of the place and away from the noise and will certainly think twice about going back.
Faultless meal with exceptional food. Great cooking and nicely balanced flavours through out each course. Desserts were excellent, not to sweet, great presentation and so so good!
Excellent meal. Had the set menu was really good value. Service was excellent
Excellent food!!! Highly recommend the beef fillet. Cooked beautifully. It was our second time eating here and definitely looking forward to eating here again. Thank you for a superb meal.
the food was outstanding, staff were friendly and attentive and it was a lovely comfy relaxed atmosphere. would definitely recommend to come here, fab night!
Really great meal and service in a very nice atmosphere
Booked on line, no hitches. Delicious 3 course Sunday lunch, lovely vegetables with the main course and plenty of meat. Unusual tasty starters and desserts. Wine by the glass pricey. Excellent service.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch ,the food is perfect and the staff are very helpfull and pleasant,we have had a few evening meals there too ,and have been very good.
Visit Chadwicks regularly and have yet to be let down. Love the place!
Superb all round great food and service. Would recomend a visit any time of day the only hurt was a standard large gin and tonic £13.49 ouch.
Great food and great service always good and great choice from the menu and the bar best Sunday lunch in the area by far .
Great food and top service. The attention to detail makes all the difference and there is a wide variety of options for vegetarians. Wine menu is also excellent.
Very high standard of food. Fantastic gin and tonic and glass of red was perfect temperature. Faultless and worth the money. Highly recommend! Thanks for the great night
Outstanding meal - service, food and wine all of a very high standard. First ate at Chadwicks when it was in Yarm High St and Maltby lives up to that reputation.
Fabulous evening. First time we’ve eaten here. Mum tries to avoid wheat and dairy and the staff went out of their way to ensure she had an appetiser and dessert even though it wasn’t on the menu. Service was excellent, all the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was amazing!
Absolutely fantastic quality, excellent service and warm cosy environment. The staff were extremely welcoming and you don’t have to wait an age for your food. The presentation and quality is exquisite
Welcome and service was good the starter which was Whitby crab was excellent the main course of pan fried fillet steak was average not the best fillet steak I have eaten and at £34 a go you would expect the best.
Excellent food, really enjoyed the evening. Good atmosphere and great choice and range of wines. Would recommend for all occasions. Good service even on a busy night
I can't really say much more than the whole of the early evening at Chadwicks was stunning. Thank you for making it special. We will be returning in the very near future.
Limited choice on Special Lunch Menu - only 2 alternatives - and considered expensive for what it was. - - - - - - -
We Enjoyed the food. Wine a little expensive by the glass. The staff were very friendly. There is a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant even though it was lunchtime and rather quiet.
Excellent meal, steak night menu was excellent value Great service
Faultless food and service, we were shocked at just how good the food was as we had no idea somewhere like this was so close to where we live. Best food we have had in England, will definitely be returning
Always a pleasurable experience at Chadwicks. The food and service are exceptional. The staff are attentive but never pushy. Whether its a special occasion or just dinner out you wont be disappointed
Food and service was outstanding. We arrived early and enjoyed a few drinks in the cosy bar. We were handed menus and pre-ordered our meals. The actual meal was fantastic on all three courses -and my gluten free requests were handled with no fuss allowing me to have just about every item on the menu with a little tinkering by the chef. Good wine. List without being pretentious or over priced. Would certainly recommend and look forward to revisiting in the near future.
Never fails to impress. The best place to eat in Teesside by a long way. Always something new on the menu to try out. Proud to call this place my local.
Very good food and service. Nice balance between quality and atmosphere. Not cheap but good value for money. Menu is a bit limited and could be changed more regularly
Food up to usual (high) standard and staff as friendly, helpful and efficient as ever. However, it fails to get it's usual "6" because the the food choice on lunchtime Prix Fixé has now become unacceptably limited and no longer represents 'good value'. This deterioration in choice has been slowly happening over the past year, but has now reached the point of being unacceptable - the daytime A la Carte menu provides a better bet. One of the reasons for regularly frequenting Chadwicks has now disappeared.
Every item on the plate was gorgeous, not just the main item and the staff were very friendly and attentive but not in your face. Would definitely recommend 100%
Went for Sunday lunch. The food was great and couldn't fault it. The decor was a bit naff to be honest but maybe I'm just fussy. It was a bit mainstream hotel chain and not cost pub. However couldn't fault the food so can't complain.
Nice restaurant but felt as if something was missing from the overall experience. Food was nice and well presented, but not that special, staff were pleasant. Long wait between courses, think we waited nearly an hour between starters and main course? We didn't complain about it but some other diners did. Sat without drinks, had to ask for a glass of wine that I'd ordered but hadn't turned up. Toilets are basic pub type toilets, not what you would expect from an establishment wanting to be high end. Overall a nice restaurant, quite expensive, but not quite what I had hoped it would have been. This is the second time we've been, but probably won't go again. Think there are better in the area that are not as pricey and offer a better dining experience.
An ok meal, The menu looks better than the food. When it did arrive we were surprised how small the steak was and also how plain the food was. Service slow with more chatter between the staff than the clients, I was always looking for service and had to wait a while. To pricey for what they offer.
Service good, noisy christening party drinking in the bar not even eating made conversation difficult. Food quality and menu good, there was so little fish in the cullen skink that made it disappointing and the potatoes were el dente, potato and leek soup would have been more accurate a description. The cod was beautifully cooked on my main. My partners beef cheek was lovely she said. Overall not as good an experience as I expected and hoped, but I will be back as I think you are better than what I experienced. Kevin Cooper
We went for the fixed menu. Although the portions were not huge, there was more than enough without feeling bloated. It was a tasty and well presented meal
Lovely food, Great service the whole family enjoyed every meal and were not too attentive but ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves
Food was ok but paying for bread when they charge so much is not really on. Felt quite rushed with little time between courses. To be honest had much better food at the bay horse in Hurworth for a similar price and at Cena in Yarm for less.
Excellent service, attentive but not over fussy, super food, the cod and the lamb very high quality, nice quiet table as requested, lovely atmosphere, everything was excellent.
We were 2 vegetarians out of a party of 4 and found the vegetarian food to be uninspired and bland. Not entirely unexpected in some establishments who make a token gesture towards vegetarian food offerings but disappointing nonetheless; I expected more. The cheesecake main was a couple of fingers of what could have been 'Philly'. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Perfect evening with friends, atmosphere relaxed and informal, the staff are very attentive, knowledgeable, professional and most importantly friendly. Always fantastic food, cooked to perfection. Probably my favourite restaurant
Food was amazing couldn't fault it one bit even though they did bring the wrong starter out for one of us. The staff were absolutely shocking the gentleman had no manors at all and I really can't understand how he works in a customer environment. When we left and said bye twice himself and the other member of staff completely ignored us. The female member of staff eventually smiled. Also all the staff were stood in the kitchen talking and not really taking any notice of anything going on around them. Amazing food but embarrassingly poor service.
