Brilliant little restaurant. Food top quality!! Hidden gem within a beautiful village.
Had 2 courses - starter and mains, presented really well and were both really nice. Would definately return and recommend to others. Staff were really friendly and attentive.
Small intimate restaurant just right for our wedding anniversary. Food was excellent. The service was great and relaxed,no-one was in a hurry, just how we wanted it to be. It did get very busy near to the end of our meal and therefore the noise levels rose quite a bit but that happens everywhere. Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit and will definitely be returning.
Great food, service, atmosphere. First visit would definitely come back
The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing and well presented. Would higly recommend. I will be visiting again.
Friendly and attentive staff with good food and nice decor
Seven of us had the Roast dinner and it was delicious. Will definitely be back
Atmosphere was lacking something and the food was ok not great, starters were good, steaks were over done and creme brûlée a little grainy. I was hoping for a little more for the price.
Lovely restaurant - delicious food - set menu with good choices
Over an hour before we received our starters, and then another 35 minutes before the main course was served. We expected it to be a bit slower than usual because it's Mother's Day, but the wait was ridiculous. At no point did anyone apologise either. We did receive a discount on our bill, but that was because water started dripping from the light fitting above the table! This used to be our favourite place to eat in Woolton, but probably won't be going back again.
Very pleasant, evening good food ,good company , good surroundings . Will be returning
Loved the restaurant and food amazing but quite a lengthy wait but worth it
The service was great however the food was not up to the standard that I had expected from David.
Lovely, delicious, beautifully presented food, and a great atmosphere. Only one veggie main but turns out they were very happy to make more veggie options which all sounded delicious too.
Super essen und toller Service. Jeder Besuch lohnt sich. Toll
Lovely food and they easily accommodated my food intolerances. Thought it was all very reasonably priced too. Service was good but not excellent but overall we had a lovely evening at Caveau
Forth time here and it never disappoints. From the staff to the decor to the food you can’t find a fault with this place. A must visit and very reasonable priced.
Caveau has definitely been one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time the atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant quite and the food was on a whole new level the flavours and textures of it all made it taste so divine and tender
Excellent food and good service. Busy Saturday night so only seating available upstairs. Prefer downstairs as more atmosphere. Definitely recommend and will be putting it on our favourite.
Had a beautiful, faultless table d'hote lunch on Thursday. Hadn't been to the restaurant for a while as we now don't live as close as we used to but we were reminded of just how good the cooking was. Will now return soon. Hard to choose the absolute highlight but the lamb was beautiful as was the chocolate mousse with raspberries
As always fabulous food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Most definitely our favourite restaurant. Caveau never disappoints, great for a special occasion too. See you soon.
Fantastic food, service excellent, best restaurant I have visited in a long time 5***** restaurant interior is very nice and intimate but not cramped, very comfortable
Lovely welcome at this cosy village gem. Restaurant looked festive but still cosy. Food was great, really enjoyed beef and lamb dishes. Great for special occasion. Would definitely return.
Lovely restaurant, food was excellent and the staff were very attentive but not over the top. Would definitely return and recommend it to family and friends.
Went for lunch with 3 friends. We had a really lovely time. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.
I love this restaurant. We have been several times for lunch when it was a bit quiet, quite why when there must be pensioners like ourselves who would enjoy the fabulous food and sensibly priced menu I do not understand. Our latest evening visit I cannot fault, food service and ambience all excellent.
Food was good but it was so noisy that we had to use mine to communicate with the wait staff. My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary but were sat next to a large table of drunk and obnoxiously loud people which spoiled the evening. Their language and noise level became extremely crude as the evening wore on and frankly we were glad to leave. The restaurant should put couples in a different part of the building from large groups or have the nerve to ask the table to be more considerate to other diners or to leave. We will not be returning or recommending this experience to anyone.
A very good price-performance ratio. A very nice place to spend a great evening. A great French cuisine. The pheasant and the lamb were perfect
Chose Cadeau for a birthday celebration on recommendation by a friend, it more than met expectation. Good quality food at affordable prices, excellent wine list and first class service, will definitely return for our next celebration
The restaurant has a warm and charming atmostphere that complements the food. It's a French oasis in south Liverpool where meals are consistently well prepared and presented.
I first visited Caveau about 3 years ago as my Mum lives in Woolton and I looked on-line for somewhere nice to take her for lunch. We loved it and have visited many times since. The food is wonderful and the service is excellent. When I last visited we had to wait a little longer than usual for our dinner but that's the first time that's happened and it hasn't put us off. Great location, Great food, Great service and Great music (often lots of lovely Tamla Motown)!
Food was great, service not quite so good! Slow and inattentive even though it wasn't that busy for a Saturday night - slow with drinks refills
Great food, excellent service. A little expensive but still good value considering the quality. Pity there is no downstairs toilet but there's not much they can do about that. Will definitely return.
Took Hubby for Saturday lunch. Fab staff, fab food. Felt so welcome and every request catered for. Professional and friendly. Will definately be returning and recommending.
Excellent food and service. The staff were very friendly giving advice on menu choices and wines. Caveau is a very cosy welcoming restaurant. We shall certainly eat there again.
Went here on the recommendation of friends, it did not disappoint, everything went well, food service atmosphere. We had the steak, both done as requested, starters, prawns and scallops, both perfect.
I love this place. Lovely intimate candlelit atmosphere, fantastic menu- reasonably priced delicious food, nice service. Really excellent. We had the scallops, snails to start, followed by a wonderful ribeye.
Lovely food (especially the spicy parsnip soup) and great service in a beautifully presented room. A relxing way to while away a rainy Sunday lunchtime.
Enjoyed an anniversary treat. Service and quality of food superb. Look forward to trying other items on varied French menu. Price charged was good value.
Excellent service and food was delicious and reasonably priced too, everything was excellent! I will definitely be returning. Can't say enough to give this place justice!
Our first visit. We could not fault service or food. We will be returning. Would highly recommend. Liked to see the seating was well spaced apart as well.
A small expensive "French" restaurant in Woolton village. The food was superb but the service and lack of attention to detail let it down. A pricey French language menu with apparently lots of choices, however non of the lamb dishes were available. Paper tablecloths, staff who couldn't understand what was in the menu, we were disappointed. Not good.
Visited twice in 1 week as the 1st visit was a mega plus. On both occasions this was a lunchtime visit so we opted for the set price menu, as food was freshly cooked it did take little time so be prepared to have that 2nd bottle of wine. The meal was well worth the wait and was excellent, beautifully presented and extremely good value for money. Both lunchtime visits Thursday and Saturday were very quiet which suited us but if you want a busier atmosphere then I suspect the evenings would suit you better.
Good menu and fabulous food. The service was good. The tables are a little on the small side and close together but overall we enjoyed the experience.
Excellent food. Authentic french cuisine. Good service. Pleasant ambience. Great location in woolton with easy access and plentiful taxis. Will return on a regular basis.
Lovely meal and service. The only - negative is that we said when booked we would have a baby in a pram. But when arrived the lady said “I don’t know how you are going to get that down there” and wasn’t very helpful.
Food excellent and well presented in a lovely setting. However, the service could have been better and we were a little disappointed. That said, when mentioned a bottle of wine was taken off the bill as compensation.
Service friendly and professional. Food including my vegetarian dish was excellent. Scallops absolutely perfectly cooked. Great to have such a lovely french style restaurant in Liverpool
We had a lovely evening celebrating my birthday. The food was top class and the service and atmosphere excellent. Looking forward to our next visit.
Good food, pleasant staff but quite busy and waited too long between 1st and main courses
