Cattle & Cocktail

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and staff were very friendly. The cocktail list gives you loads of choice. My only criticism would be the steak was a little overcooked. Not hugely, but more than ideal. Will definitely go again though.

Good location, plenty of parking nearby. Modern decor, very good and quick service. Delicious food, wide variety on menu to choose from and accommodated any requests. Looking forward to going again.

A lovely meal. Service slightly slow but it was Saturday night and we weren't in a hurry so not such a problem. There were a few mistakes: My husband's steak arrived well done when he had ordered medium, my dessert came without the creme fraiche that was mentioned on the menu and the cheese board without butter. Also the £10 half lobster add-on available with steak main courses is probably not worth the money given the size of the lobster; there was far more meat on the prawn starter. However the drinks were fantastic and the food very enjoyable, great atmosphere and a beautiful restaurant. We would definitely go again.

Fab cocktails and lovely food. A little bit of London has finally made it to Oxted! This is my third visit and I highly recommend the cocktails.

Great evening excellent service and a really buzzy atmosphere. The steak was perfectly cooked and the cocktails were well prepared. The staff worked very hard to make it flow

Lively atmosphere, good service, but the food was little over flavoured, eg. squid had a mustard dressing and a red pesto sauce Nice to sit overlooking the park

Food excellent, service poor. Quality of food more than makes up for the poor service but be warned. Cost on the high side but worth it.

Another great evening at Cattle & Cocktail. This time the steak was a bit overcooked but everything else was great and the staff were as helpful as normal

Great decor, good food and pleasant staff. Quite quiet but was a Wednesday lunchtime. Would call the restaurant to book next time as when I booked on line I couldn't get the time I wanted for some reason, and they were not fully booked. Would go again.

Lovely food. Great atmosphere. But could do with a more efficient drinks service. Waited over 20 mins for cocktails and for wine. Food service was very efficient. But overall a good experience.

They had a 50% off all steak deal and all three of us ordered steaks. One rate, one medium, and one well done, all steak came out the same. That said, really good meat and staff friendly and welcoming.

Excellent. Will become a regular and introduce it to others! Good food wine with excellent friendly staff. Prices very good value. I look forward ton the next time.

A really excellent polite service very relaxed , I went for lunch with some girlfriends I would recommend them highly, the food was superb and perfect cocktails

Unfortunately I was very disappointed. We booked a table and sat down. We ordered drinks straight away. 30 minutes later our drinks still hadn't come and the waitress still hadn't taken our food order. We were so fed up of waiting and we were absolutely starving that we asked just for a drinks and left without eating. Not very good for somewhere just opened and wanting to make good impressions!

Good food and service. Nice friendly atmosphere. Shall looking forward to trying the Lobster evening soon. Have recommended to friends who have also enjoyed Cattle and Cocktail

The service is great, the food is lovely especially the steaks. Cocktails are great (could do with some long ones though) and atmosphere always buzzing.

The food and service was good but the menu was uninspiring. The decor was equally uninspiring but the outside terrace area is a plus. Has potential to move onwards & upwards from here.

Dissapointed that my steak was well done when asked for medium rare. This was addressed and given free desert. This shouldn't have happened in a steak restaurant in my opinion

Overall it was a positive experience. Lovely decor, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked however become overpriced once you have to start adding in extras such as chips etc. The cocktails were unfortunately a real disappointment. The choice was uninspiring and they were overpriced given that the majority only have one spirit in them. I ordered a French 75 which should be lightly sparking but was totally flat and was a strange colour! Another member of the party ordered an Amaretto Sour which should be a short cocktail made with Amaretto, sugar, lemon and ice however this one has been topped with orange juice! Not good. If you want a good steak and decent wine then this is the place but don't bother going for the cocktails.

Visited 3 times and all 3 times problems with the steaks. Food in general ok but presentation poor. Half a tomato with a bit of garnish when you pay in excess of £ 20.00 for the dish (excluding rather poor fries) surely you can do better for that price. Also paper serviettes and do not mention the deserts! However, great restaurant with lovely atmosphere and good service.

Good menu choices and food tasted great. Staff were attentive without being fussy. Nice decor for a smart / casual evening out. Welcome addition to Oxted.

Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Lovely food and amazing cocktails. Only downside is that if you order a steak you have to order fries as an extra. Very cheeky especially if you're paying £22.95 for the fillet!

Excellent food but service could have been better. Lovely décor. Music was being played but difficult to make out what as the base was very loud. Overall enjoyed the evening.

Top steaks, friendly helpful staff. Decent wine list, maybe needs to add a few cocktails to the list.....possibly a few more mainstream or blokier cocktails ( there are good beer choices as well)!

The food we had was reasonable but too seasoned. The scallops were over salted and the the salad had a very strong mustard dressing. The squid came with the mustard dressing and a soy type sauce on the side, the combination was overpowering. The risotto was also over salted. The service was good.

We had a lovely evening, I was a bit put off by previous reviews but we could not fault service (staff were lovely) cocktails and steak was really amazing!! We will definitely go back in the near future.

Really nice atmosphere, comfortable surroundings, and food pretty good, need some chicken on the menu, the staff were really friendly and very helpful, will return.

Service was great. The lobster came with condiments, which were needed as it lacked flavour, juicyness and was slightly over cooked, as it was a little rubbery. I had the squid starter, which was cooked to perfection, but still lacked flavour. My partner had the prawn starter which also lacked flavour and was served with the heads all cleaned out and put back onto the bodies! This is where the flavour comes from??? Why take it away???? His steak also lacked real flavour for £23, but on a good note the chips were tasty. Shame, because the concept is really good and I would love to go again, but only if I saw great improvement, we didn't get what we paid for in price, had we paid a lot less, then I would not of complained, I can cook better at home!

3rd time of visiting and a much better experience hoping all the teething problems are now resolved, rib eye steak was fabulous and service was spot on.

Great decor, amazing staff and really good quality food. Would definitely recommend and will go again in near future.

We went as a double birthday celebration. Need to book but the Food is amazing and the pomegranate gin cocktail is a must! I will definitely be going back.

Staff very nice and attentive, food good, quite expensive for us but did enjoy the experience. Would prefer the gratuities to be left to one's own discretion.

Food was lovely and the cocktails were well made but the service was really slow which was a shame however they said that this was because they were short staffed. It's worth a visit.

The restaurant and service are both brilliant. The food was delicious and they catered to our every need. Great non alcoholic cocktails too which I appreciated as an pregnant. Will visit again soon

Booked dinner, warm welcome, good food and great service. Would recommend. Would only ask that Chef to provides a greater selection of vegetables on the menu. Chris Nelson Oxted

We ordered starters: one prawn dish and one scallop dish. We ordered for our main course one tiger prawn dish and one steak. The waiter returned to say there were no prawns and no scallops which meant 3 out of our 4 choices were not available . This left a choice of only 3 starters . My husband chose the mini beef burgers which he said were disappointing and the bread was very dry . He said it was the worst starter he had ever had. My cheese starter was salty and passable. My fish cakes as the main course was pretty disappointing and not what I would choose for a meal out. My husbands rib eye steak was good

Lovely venue, fantastic food. The service could have been better and the place was really cold, especially the ladies. I would however, definitely go again as every business has "teething problems" when they have just opened. My steak was cooked to perfection and I can't wait to try the cocktails when I am not having a work lunch.

Although our main course was nice - the starter (calamari) was terrible. Also, small point, but when I asked the waitress to hang my coat up somewhere - she said there was nowhere to hang it! All a bit disappointing, as we had gone with high expectations.

A lovely evening at Cattle and Cocktail - attentive service and delicious service. Only complaint would be that it's quite noisy, but that did not take away from our enjoyment too much. Will definitely return.

The service was good but far too slow, but unfortunately the food was v poor, raw duck and overcooked steak, I appreciate it is first week of opening but if you are a steak restaurant you should at least be getting that right!!

Great value lunch time menu with a varied choice on the set menu and generous portion size. A pleasant, spacious restaurant with very friendly staff.

A nice friendly welcome and no problems getting good service. We all enjoyed the meal and would be happy to recommend it to friends. My steak was cooked just as I ordered. The meal for three of us was slightly more expensive than similar establishments.

New restaurant in Oxted. Very modern, contemporary décor. Limited menu, but something for the vegetarian, fish or meat lover. I ordered the 250g fillet steak, but they had run out, so I was offered the 350g at the same price as the 250g. I have to say, it was probably the best fillet steak I have ever had, washed down with a nice bottle of Italian red!
