Cattle & Cocktail

Our first visit to Cattle & Cocktail. Firstly - the name is ugly! Our lobster linguine was sadly lacking. For example, described as "with cherry tomatoes", my portion contained just one, albeit in 2 halves! The lobster was sparse & chewy. Our neighbouring table was served the wrong steaks. When the correct order was delivered, they were incorrectly cooked and the fries were forgotten - & not asked for - until their meal was virtually over. The 'service' was willing enough, just not up to much. There were very few tables occupied but then it was midweek but we found it lacking in atmosphere. Pity!

Modern setting - well greeted on arrival - good lychee martini - excellent steak & the lobster deal on Wednesday is very good value. Would highly recommend this venue.

Food was tasty, though my rare steak was a little over. Staff seemed a little preoccupied with a more demanding table. Restaurant temperature felt really cold (esp for a visit on January.

Arrived early and had cocktails in the bar area which were great, nice atmosphere. We both had three courses, which were all lovely. Would definitely go back.

Good food, nice staff and delicious cocktails in a good environment, only downside is the bar area is small so if you're looking to go for drinks before dinner it could get very crowded.

Visited on a Monday night so steak at 50% off - I'm sure when we visit again it would be busier - great food but serving staff seemed quite bored and we were an inconvenience to them!

The restaurant is decorated really nicely and the staff were very friendly and attentive, but not over the top. The menu was really varied, with some nice sides and extras to choose from. The steaks were fairly tender, but cooked to perfection. I would recommend Cattle and Cocktail to others.

Service was amazing the girls were really friendly and attentive, the tall guy in the bar making cocktails was great too! The food was exceptional really lovely steak cooked to perfection and decent portion size of fries. Highly recommended will definitely return :)

Friendly place and still working on improving service. Half price steaks on a Monday which was pleasant surprise. Worth checking website for other special offers during week.

A pleasant atmosphere, good menu. Patient service. I like what has been done to the front. Good prices for a lunchtime meal. I will go again. 😊

The food was nice, but not as good as last time and very noisy. Served the wrong drinks but out it right quickly and with no fuss.

Great food and atmosphere. Staff needs training and a hostess on Friday nights ! Visited already 2 times and would go again. Finally something different in Oxted.

The service is poor. There is no management lead in this restaurant. They have a captive audience coming. The venue is decorated and well laid out. The staff haven't been trained, are not consistent and slow. They need to improve this otherwise they will not have return customers.

Excellent food, Excellent service, Excellent cocktails, Lovely atmosphere. Definitely a place we will go again. Prices very reasonable. Waiting staff really on the ball and very attentive.

Sent back steak to be cooked some more and came back exactly the same. When I pointed it out to the very nice waitress she immediatley offered me a free pudding which begs the question how often does this happen? Very noisy. Obviously very popular but not for me. Won't be going back.

Great service lovely lunchtime menu and nice ambience, our waitress was as lovely as she always is and I'm very peaked to see they have extended their opening days to include Monday. Keep it up cattle and cock tail!!

Cocktails poor and too much ice , steak lacked flavour, rushed to leave to make room for more customers , prices as you'd expect but would not be in rush to return

Food was OK-isch, certainly not what we hoped for. Ambiance was nice, but again not maxed the potential of the location. Dessert menu was presented on a pulposus piece of A4 paper. All together OK-isch at best

Our table was ready for us on arrival, the restaurant and bar were busy which gave a great atmosphere. The service was great, super polite, friendly staff who were extremely attentive. Food great, priced right and cocktails lovely. Will definitely come back for cocktails and dinner again, thank you for having us.

Good steak but some sketchy service let's it down. Wine list is limited and choice of starters small and quality of these questionable. Nice staff though and a nice vibe

Nice place, decent atmosphere. Food was average, we had to send back my husband's steak but they dealt with it well. More waiting staff were needed on the whole.

It is a nice looking restaurant Great food and great service, would definitely go again and recommend to my friends and looking forward to our next visit

A fab evening had by all even though they were rammed to the rafters. We still received excellent service, fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Locally sourced beef cooked to perfection.

Very good and friendly service. The scallops were cooked just right and the steak was fine. The restaurant is fairly noisy and it was not full when I was here. You need a cover on the ceiling

We had great service lovely food friendly staff and a new loyalty programme what more do you need!! The barman was very professional and made sure we were served quickly.

Excellent Meal and attentive service from the staff. The only downside was the acoustics as it was very noisy as the chatter and laughter seemed to bounce off the walls and reverberate around. But a good evening nonetheless

Food good but a rather rushed experience. A forced 7pm booking and we were finished by 7.50pm with the courses coming too quickly, not giving time to digest .

Good food excellent service and fair prices! Just what oxted needed. Overall a good experience and plenty of choice too. I would def reccommend it to friends

Once again a lovely evening with great cocktails, food and friendly helpful staff. I would like to suggest though that the menu changes sometimes or perhaps there is a specials board, but I have nothing to complain about.

Enjoyable evening, friendly staff, good food - not a huge selection but something for everyone. Would go again. Only downside is the tables are very close together.

The atmosphere was good. The fillet steak was cooked ok but not hot but for the cost you can get a better tasting steak in London

Really very tasty and the service was very good too. Not the cheapest, but great cocktails, great steaks, great starters and puddings. I'd definitely go back again

Lovely lobster meal, charming and attentive staff and an introduction to a new cocktail. Good wine list. Restaurant full even mid-week and nice summer sitting area outside.

Great place and service! Very quick to seat and serve us, drinks were great and food was fab. We had a whole lobster for £20 as part of the lobster special (not sure if this is weekly, but we went on a Wednesday)!

This restaurant is fantastic. Very chic décor. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food and drink were a very high standard. Customers all seemed to enjoy themselves too. We shall certainly be returning.

Great selection of food and drinks, great service, disappointed that they ran out of lobster though. Will definitely be making a return visit for the lobster!

Very good value meal with quality ingredients well prepared and tasty. Steak was well cooked and served exactly as requested. Prawns were tasty and succulent and chunky chips, salad and creamed spinach all great. Excellent service by friendly staff. Only issue unfortunately was the noise level. The restaurant acoustics make it a pretty noisy venue which is a real pity. Some noise absorption materials on the ceiling and walls could make a big difference.

Service wasn't so good although our waitress was friendly. Service was slow and management didn't look so happy. Cocktails were great as always. Bar very busy which is slightly off putting. Should have a separate bar to the restaurant.

Cocktails didn't arrive until after our meal and wine had arrived. Lobster was good, not enough sauce (only had hollandaise). Would have preferred Thermidor and a wedge of lemon. Had to ask for a finger bowl- but no napkin provided. My friend had the filet steak, tasty but 'stringy'. Only one toilet per gender??

Good food and even better cocktails. The waitress warmed up a bit, but she was very busy. The food was a little bit rushed. Great value for the quality of food. Highly recommended!

Food was good and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good my only comment was the delay between starters and arrival of main course. However the staff were very pleasant and as it is a new venture I am sure that the teething problems will be ironed out.

Once again great service and atmosphere and food. Steak cooked perfect this time. The only thing I would say is the creamed spinach is a bit to much like a sauce, spinach needs to be fuller.

Good location, plenty of parking nearby. Modern decor, very good and quick service. Delicious food, wide variety on menu to choose from and accommodated any requests. Looking forward to going again.
