Had my boyfriend's birthday dinner here and can't recommend it highly enough. Gorgeous food, lovely, cozy, homely atmosphere and warm, knowledgeable staff (all for v. reasonable prices!). We've lived in the neighborhood for years so can't believe this is the first time we've been. A total gem.
I can not fault Café Domenico - absolutely top service, incredible food and a darn fine house wine! The special of parpadelle with slow cooked rabbit was the best dish I’ve tasted in a long time!
Very friendly and cozy restaurant; food was delicious although not all home made; the lasagna is a great choice!!! Will recommend as the menu is also fairly priced!
very pleasant well run small Italian bistro café . tasty bread and dipping oil for free before starters and choice good well cooked pasta .dishes and a couple of daily special's Pleasant ambience and quaffable house wine .
Lovely meal and fantastic service, as always. Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is very cosy. Specials board is always a treat. Thanks for a great night!
A very pleasant experience. It's a very small cafe with a tiny kitchen so be prepared to wait. The food is worth the wait! We particularly enjoyed the delicious tomato soup. And the house red wine was great!
Excellent! Food was lovely - plentiful and very tasty. My steak was perfectly cooked. Great service - friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable too. Will definitely be back.
Had not been there for several years and it did not fail to disappoint. Excellent food and wonderful service, mainly due to the friendly waiter. Would I recommend it, most certainly
We found the food fantastic and very filling.Overall atmosphere very relaxing. The staff were so helpful advising on the menu and attentive to all in the dining party. Highly recommended.
Small restaurant in Leith with excellent freshly cooked food and great, quick and friendly service. Would definitely recommend Café Domenico to others. Good value too.
Tucked away in a corner of Leith this place is small but perfectly formed. Brilliant service and terrific food. Been here many times and it never disappoints. Specials Board is well named as there are always special dishes worth trying and usually great value.
Friendly staff. Very good food. Large portions - too much meat for us. So did not have a dessert. Good coffee. The house wine is good.
Lovely restaurant, great food, good portions, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere and excellent staff. Have been three times this year and will be back. Highly recommended.
excellent !! very cosy place inside, reasonable priced and the food was absolutely spot on. will definitely be coming back again. kind and friendly service too.
A great little restaurant in the heart of Leith that's definitely worth visiting. Lively atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and delicious food. What more could you ask for?
What a brilliant italian!!! Tony & the team will not let you down but you MUST book or you will be disappointed because it is always full... Also highly recommend lunch time sandwiches etc!!!!! Great food...always have at least 1 meal there when I'm in town.
Lovely cosy restaurant and very welcoming. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Food generally fine but lamb shank a bit disappointing I'm afraid. Would still recommend a visit.
OUTSTANDING! Family meal for four early on a Saturday evening. Restaurant is modest in size with a traditional feel and was busy. The menu was not large but is varied (with great specials) and they were happy to adjust a couple of things for our kids. Everything we had was really high quality and cooked to perfection. Service was super friendly and efficient and the price was very reasonable. We went on a recommendation and will definitely be back.
Fantastic meal and amazing value! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. One of the best evening meals we had for a very long time. Try the specials board... you won’t be disappointed!
A real hidden gem; wonderful authentic food, great atmosphere, and fun attentive staff. Just watch out for the mirror - I almost waked right into it. Will definitely be back.
A lovely little restaurant in Leith. The staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The food was excellent and the specials board added some extra treasures.
Lovely wee place, only one waiter (being as the place is so small) who was as attentive as possible as it was quite busy. Fairly limited menu but what we ordered was very nice indeed. Not sure it was all worth the £80 paid (two starters, two mains, bottle of wine and coffees)...the main issue that put a bit of a dampener on the evening was a loud(ish) group of 8 who'd had a few already and spoiled the ambience of the place. Would go back but probably for lunch or an earlier dinner.
Lovely food, delicious and fresh - large portions. The staff were very friendly and went through the specials board. Would definitely return next time I'm in the area.
Another return visit with friends - as always, treated like family. Great food, good wine, good company. Got to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Edinburgh.
Great food and for a small restaurant a great choice. Love the atmosphere here and staff are really lively. Second time here and will go back again.
The service and food was excellent and good value. Very quaint inside with a lovely ambiance I will definitely be back. Well done cafe Domenico
1st visit and very impressed with the hospitality, quality of service and most importantly delicious food. Cosy and inviting upon arrival. Also appears to have a delicious takeaway sandwich/ lunch menu. "Two thumbs fresh!"
My favourite restaurant by far! Took some friends along for their first time and they're already planning the next visit! Friendly staff, quick service and delicious food!
A lovely little Italian with fantastic service at a very reasonable price. This cosy wee gem on the shore in Leith will definitely impress. We will be back.
We had a wonderful meal at this little hidden gem, a small but very authentic Italian restaurant tucked away in Leith. The host Mark and all of the staff were really attentive and could not do enough for us. We had a 3 course meal which was beautiful and be warned plentiful. They serve a wonderful pre-dinner drink prossecco mixed with lemon cello. We had a bottle of the house red which was lovely. The only criticism we had was that it was very warm in the restaurant however Mark assured us that he and his partner had only just took over it was on his 'Jobs to do list'. We did have a shock when we received the bill as it came to £50 which we thought was outstanding value for money! If you are in Leith we would definitely recommend the Cafe Domenico for a meal but our tip would be make sure you're hungry :-)
This is a little gem tucked away in a side street off The Shore with a great atmosphere. The food is great and reasonable priced and the staff are lovely.
We had the fixed price menu: starter, main course and dessert. The meatball starter was delicious, but main courses were disappointing. Service was erratic. Even though the restaurant was not busy, a drink we ordered was not brought until we reminded the waitress about 10 minutes later.
Went here for lunch. Food was good, the service excellent and all for an extremely reasonable price. I will definitely be visiting again and will recommend to others!
Excellent and cosy atmosphere and food! I really loved this beautiful place and definitely will come back! Already recommended café Domenico to my friends and family
Lovely Italian restaurant with attentive staff, nice atmosphere and great food and drink. We both enjoyed the specials main of Chicken Nduja with sweet potato mash-yum.
Excellent food, quick friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended and a hidden gem in Leith. Not too expensive and worth the money. Definitely try it.
Very small and cosy restaurant, excellent food, very generous portions, superb attentive and never intrusive service. that was our first visit and we will definitely be back
Fantastic food and friendly helpful staff. We had a fantastic evening. Definitely recommend this restaurant for couples or families. Fabulously relaxed atmosphere. Can't fault anything.
This was a lovely evening with fab food, excellent service and all at a reasonable price. A friendly wee place near to where I stay so I have introduced a few friends to it all of whom have enjoyed it as much I do! I'll definitely be back!
Lovely restaurant with friendly service and a good menu. (Now filling the gap as the system won't accept a simple response) recommend you try it
Lovely food and friendly efficient service. We had the haggis pasta and the Seafood stew, which were both amazing. The portions are large and the house wine was very good indeed! :-)
Absolutely Great. We will be back. Good ambiance, no crowds (or Children!) House wine is excellent value, and comes in a convenient 1lit. bottle! Cheers!
An intimate and beautiful little restaurant in a lovely setting. The service, quality of food and value for money was outstanding. We will definitely be returning.
As usual the food was delicious and reasonably priced and the service was really friendly. I would definitely recommend the chicken stuffed with spicy sausage.
Service was amazing as was thestablished food. Wine was really nice and a good price to. Will recommend to family and friends Definitely will be back.
Love Cafe Delmonico. Family run. Always great service and food. Ran out of their excellent olives though last night. Had the delicious fish stew, which I could not finish as so plentiful.
We love Cafe Domenico. It is an authentic Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, an interesting menu and great food at very reasonable prices. What more can I say?
At the risk of ruining this wonderful local Italian haven for Leithers, fabulous food with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There are no second sittings here and no need to rush through your meal, a delightful all night venue for a relaxed, lively and continental evening.
