Cactus Jacks - Salisbury

The food was terrible - I told the waitress there were lots of broken little shells in the sauce of my mussel starter and her reply was “oh was there” I had nothing to clean my hands with ( a very small soufflé dish with water and lemon ) and then the mains was awful - beef wraps - it wasn’t spicy it tasted of a sort of gravy - powdery - the peppers were mushy - and the extras to put in there were all together on a small plate and not as expected - it’s really nothing like it was - such a shame - and a shame the waitress didn’t want to know so I am writing it on here instead

Great food and service. Prices were reasonable. Would have given top marks but the table & floor were dirty.

Booked it on there website then they called to tell they are fully booked for the whole evening no apology or anything very rude on the phone won't be going there again

Fantastic food and service. The restaurant was quiet (because we had booked for an early meal) but was still atmospheric. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food tasted fantastic.

Always have the best time and good here! Came to celebrate our anniversary and weren’t disappointed! Cactus jacks is the first place we think of when going out for a meal!

Had a really enjoyable night. Food and drink were great and we really loved the relaxed atmosphere. The hot chili was quite hot ... dont think I'm up for trying the industrial strength!

Great food, reasonably priced, nice garden area to enjoy a cocktail afterwards. Staff were attentive, slightly limited menu for mains but we both found something we enjoyed.

Good service, lovely waitress but the food was not as good as previously experienced some years before, the fajeta sauce tasted like from packet which wasn't mixed properly and the chicken was just not good.

Friendly welcome when we arrived. Relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and spacious. Food was served quickly and was very flavoursome. Staff were very pleasant and ensured they allowed us time to enjoy our meal as well as recognising when we required more drinks etc. Good price food and drinks.

Not a good experience at all we ordered steak and couldn't even eat it. It was all fat and gristle this is the 2nd time we have had a bad meal and won't be going back again it's such a shame because it used to be amazing

Poor service, waiting to order for a long time, drinks and food then took a while to arrive. It's also confusing who is a customer and who works there as the staff do not have a uniform. The food however was very nice which made the experience worth while.

Good very good except for churro we’re very heavy & hard, waitress not very happy as overstretched, also had us booked for 8.30 not 7 pm as confirmed by us

as usual the food was served and presented well, was full of flavour, and the cost was reasonable. Toilets were clean and fully stocked with essentials.

We love cactus jacks we travel half an hour to get here we love it so much. The food is amazing my partner and I have never come across a Resturant like it before.

Food was delicious, only downside the place was very quiet, but that was to be expected on a Monday at 6.30pm. Nice touch was candle on my daughters dessert as it was her birthday. Will go again.

Had table booked for 6.15pm for 6 people. Restaurant only had 2 other tables being used with 2 people each table. Explained when we ordered at 6.20pm we were tight for time as watching show at 7.30pm. No problem they said. By 7.15pm still no food. So we paid for drinks and left and went straight to the show very hungry. We got a sorry from the guy behind the bar whilst he happily took our drinks money.

Nice food, but service was really slow (about 20mins from being sat down to taking drinks order, long wait for food and for finished plates to be taken away, etc) - just understaffed for the amount of people in the restaurant. Real shame!

Poor service, had to wait ages for food then they add an £18 service charge to bill, joke !! Will definitely not be returning or recommending to friends.

Our first visit and experience of a Mexican restaurant. Staff brilliant, welcoming, attentive, great customer service. Food hot but not as good as what I cook at home and we thought we'd get a more authentic experience. Fajita chicken, pepper, onions were overlooked. Really just spicy chicken or chilli used in various ways so not what we were expecting. Also sat at front of restaurant and had to keep getting up to close the door as every time someone came in or out the interior door kept opening I was really cold. Wouldn't return but accept it may just be our taste in food is the problem.

We arrived early for our table but were seated straight away. The wrong food arrived for me so i had to wait another 5 mins whilst everyone else tucked in. Portions could have been bigger but what we had was delicious. The restaurant wasn't very busy but it took over 30 mins for our desserts to arrive (we were given a free dessert as a table had ordered then decided they couldn't wait). The front of house team were very pleasant and coped well with the delay from the kitchen but I would prefer to add a tip rather than have service automatically added to the bill. The meal was to celebrate my son's 18th and he really enjoyed it so that was the most important thing.

Great friendly service, and despite not having a specific kid's menu, they were only too pleased to help us find something for our 4 year old so he had a starter as his main meal. Other than that, the food was fantastic. I had the Carne Asada and it was the best steak I have had for a long time! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Attentive staff, easy and relaxed atmosphere. Food is always good quality with ample variety. The Monday to Thursday 2 course and side represents good value and naturally if you so wish the staff are always willing to provide the guests with a sombrero for that added authentic look.

I visited Cactus Jacks for my birthday as I love Mexican food. The restaurant was nicely decorated and roomy. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was great quality and enjoyed by all. The only downside was the margaritas weren’t quite right - no salt rimmed glasses and no option to go to a frozen margarita, which are my favourite. We ordered a pitcher for £17.50 but only got 2 drinks out of it (£5.50 for a single margarita) but the waiter kindly only charged us for 2 drinks instead. Overall a good experience.

Food and company was fantastic, shame it was a quiet evening, the place was soul-less. That said; the service was very good, thank you. Looking forward to next time
