Malcolm John is an outstanding and reliable chef/patron backed up by the excellent Anais front of house. Good value food and drink, especially with loyalty card.

As always great food and service.Lunch is a good time to catch up with friends over a relaxing lunch and good wine.Bonus if Malcolm is the chef!!

went for valentines night and the sharing menu. Received a lovely champagne cocktail on arrival and then three delicious courses of chacuterie board, sea bream with cockles and chorizo (amazing!), and cheese selection. Service very attentive and lovely expereince. Would recommend and return.

Excellent, good-value food, friendly , warm atmosphere and good service. A lovely place to go for dinner, with a bill of £110 (inc. service) for 2x starters, 3xmains, 2xdesserts and four drinks. Would definitely go again.

We had a good meal, the service was prompt, the tables are not squashed in too tightly and the noise level was good so my deaf husband could join in the conversations. Not given top rating as the choice for vegetarians (one of our party out of 4) could have been better.

We really enjoyed ourselves at Brasserie Vacherin-it has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food and very nice cocktails! We will definitely go there soon again

When there twice before the name change and new management. I had promised my son to bring him there so I did as it was his birthday. I was not disappointed food great and service was fabulous as before. I would give it a six if we had stayed for dessert.

Service was excellent. The Food was very good, with the exception of my special, which was a little dry but still very tasty. The restaurant could have only been improved if the draft from outside was dealt with better.

perfect cooked sea bass, very tasty buttered mash, chocolate fondant cooked as it was suppose to be, generally amazing food, very nice, professional staff, excellent service

The staff were amazing however the food was very dissapointing. Ordered two roasts that came back with burnt vegetables. Would recommend the mango sorbet for desert. The best part of the meal for me.

The food was excellent and the choice varied. The staff were very attentive. Good price for the quality of the food. Would recommend going. Lack of parking is the only downside and that is true for all the restarants in the area

'Monday night is steak night' (we hadn't known about it before we arrived) proved to be very good value as was the set price menu which one of us had. The three of us had different steaks, all beautifully cooked and delicious, and the cheese and shallot tart was an excellent starter. The 1/2 litre carafe of red wine complemented the food very well. Staff were very pleasant. Overall a great experience.

Nice to find a goid French restauranto on our doorstep. Will definitely be going again in near future when we can. Very good meal and polite staff

Our portion of steak was quite small. We wondered if it was because we had a groupon voucher. It was quite noisy. The service was great and good really good.

Unfortunately this time the experience wasn't good, although the last time it was excellent. New chef and was very slow, in fact on entering restaurant a party of four were gesturing at us not to stay as wasn't good. We thought we would stay anyhow and it did get a little messy when another table of two suggested it was poor as well, but another couple on next table felt it was unfair of them to do this. A bit of an argument then ensued with both parties threatening to knock seven bells out of each other! Not great as I was there with my wife, 10 year old daughter and mother of 87! Anyhow things finally calmed down with one of the groups moving. It took 20 minutes before we were offered a drink, then starters took 45 minutes to arrive. When the main meals came, another mishap as everyone's but my meal turned up. Everyone had finished eating before mine had arrived. The food tasted good, but service was shocking and they just needed to be more informative or not take the bookings or AR at least turn people away, which they didn't. They didn't put service on the bill. Disappointing, would like to give them another chance as food tasted good, but service will have to improve drastically.

Had voucher for meal for 2 which meant we had to chose from set menu. They didn't have chocolate desert we wanted so instead we asked if we could have a chocolate fondant instead from main menu which they agreed to do for £1 each. It wasn't our fault they didn't have what we wanted but we still negotiated to have something else we like for reasonable deal. The service and food was really good as always.

The food was very nicely cooked, but unfortunately completely let down by the appalling service. We didn't order starters and waited an age for our mains to turn up. Then 3 steaks, long wait, then two more. Another wait, some sides, some sauces - we had to ask for the remaining dishes. All done in an off-hand manner, no apologies. Everything else very slow arriving, apart from, funnily enough, the bill! Go there if you like good cooking but don't care much how or when it arrives!

We went for Sunday brunch. I was very disappointed. Slow service, mediocre, overpriced food. I've been here in the evenings and it was ok but this wasn't a good experience. Took 45 minutes to get our starters

We had a table of eight for 9.30 so main rush was out of the way however service was very slow. When the food arrived it was well cooked however my rib-eye was meant to be 250 grms, I would say it was under 200 grms

Starters a bit bland, although mains & desserts better. Cost a lot considering it was not amazing. Had to ask waitress to stop topping up wine glasses every 5 minutes. Restaurant half empty - not a good sign on a Fri night

I have been here before and had a reasonable meal, but well off course today (a Sunday). Kitchen seemed to have some issues getting food out in reasonable time. Out of a few dishes (including veggie risotto - how do you run out of that ?). Far too much pepper on the burgers, steak hache (suspiciously like the burger) and roast beef. Front of house did their best but hard to impress when food comes so slowly

We found the staff very friendly and accommodating when we asked to move because of traffic noise at the front of the restaurant. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals all perfectly cooked.

Great food and service as always. Lovely to be able to have the doors open last night as was so warm. Crab ravioli starter was delicious. This was the First time I didn't have the twice baked soufflé which is one of my favourite starters of all time. My husband enjoyed his Scallops followed by duck. Staff are great. Why the missing star? Smarten your ladies loo up! I shudder every time I go in there. One of the two taps has been broken for months the soaps dispensers are covered in gunk, the cheap plastic seat wobbles and the whole area needs a lick of paint. Malcolm John probably has never visited it he needs to take a look next time!

went there on a Monday for their steak club deal (50% off) only to be told they had no fillet steak or chateaubriand so limited choice therefore which @ 1/2 price was good value for money but too expensive otherwise especially in relation to dish size which varied significantly. Vegetables served al dente (good) but swimming in oil (again portions on the small side). Desserts ok but totally unexceptional. Service charming but amateurish This small chain of restaurants (also use the Chiswick branch) which was so good has steadily deteriorated over the last few years and whilst Croydon is a culinary desert we won't revisit.

Food and wine were very good, quiet and efficient service, good prices. Slightly noisy environment as the front doors were permanently open onto the main road. Will go again.

Outstanding meal - great value and excellent service. The scallop starter was superb as was the sole. Very good wine at a very reasonable price. Will definitely go back.

Wonderful evening, the best restaurant in Croydon for sure. Celebrated my birthday and it was all delicious especially the chocolate fondant and praline ice cream! Excellent service too, thoroughly recommend this place

we came here for my sisters birthday. The food was excellent and appetising and good value for money. The service was excellent. I will come again.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food and wine. It's downfall was the time it took to get our food.... this was disappointing as we missed out on a pudding as we had somewhere else to be. Otherwise, very good

We were provided with the menu and ordered drinks, then when the waiter came back to take our order we were told that there was no fish whatsoever on the menu. They explained that this was because their supplier had failed to deliver anything that day, however why they decided to tell us that fully 20 minutes after we arrived is a mystery. We then had to finish our drinks (which came to £50 with no discount offered for the inconvenience) and find another restaurant nearby. To be fair, they were deeply apologetic, but it's still wholly unsatisfactory to not be told about the absence of any fish on the menu immediately upon arrival. I have eaten there before and found the food and service to be very good, but I will not be going back after this experience

Saturday lunch with a friend, restaurant pretty quiet, menu choices ok, service good, waiting time for mains a but long, food very average, annoying other table of young ladies constantly playing back loud music videos, probably would not return.

We went there to celebrate a birthday, we ordered off the a la carte menu, the food was excellent and the service was outstanding! Would definitely recommend it as one of the best restaurants I have been to in South Croydon

Always a good experience at Brasserie Vacherine. Nice friendly staff good service and a willingness to go the extra mile like accommodating special requirements the food is always good and that is why we keep going back. Highly recommend this eaterie.

Great foot and really impressive service - a great place to go out and have a first class evening meal. Recommended to anyone in Croydon.
