Bombay Spice - York

Lovely food and friendly, helpful staff. Nice setting in the city too. Enjoyed my vindaloo (hot, but not crazy so) and mushroom rice. Will visit this place again.

6 pieces chicken in the Karachi price is high for that amount disappointed ,Then saw the write up in the york evening press a little a taken back

Dishes were very nice, a lot of choice on the menu, only problem was it is abit cramped so our table got knocked a few times on the way past but this is the only issue as the food is very nice.

Lovely food in a nice comfortable place would eat there again. Given a complimentary drink at the end a vert nice touch. Made to feel very welcome even though it was very busy.

nice food and attentive staff, very busy on a Saturday night so it is best to book. The only downside is the tables are on the small side so a bit cramped but it wouldn`t put me off going again.

Food was good but very, very spicy, we'd asked for medium, honestly I'm not a wimp when it comes to curries. Service was excellent, staff very attentive, food came quickly. Would recommend and would go again but will ask them for less chillies next time

On a trip down from Scotland, we had looked up places to eat and as Bombay Spice had won awards in recent years, we thought we'd give it a try. Not disappointed at all. Fantastic food, lovely staff, prompt efficient service, clean and lovely atmosphere!

The food was equisite. There was so much flavour. The only reason for not giving 6 stars is due a a slight mix up on one of the dishes. That being said the waiter resolved the issue in less than 5 minutes. Will definitely visit again and would highly recommend.

Great food and excellent service. However the table was up against the bar and therefore the staff were always around and it felt as though we were not left alone to eat our meals. It will not put us coming back though when in York.

Great food and very friendly staff. My daughter has a nut allergy and staff were very helpful in choosing appropriate dishes, even cooking dishes which were off menu. Highly recommended.

Had a fabulous meal the other night, we had a large table and we had a great selection of food and wine. We were well looked after and would recommend it to lovers of Indian food.

We went for the lunch menu. Food was good - good size portions, nice and hot. It would be good if the lunch menu included a popadom as well, as other restaurants do. It was very quiet, only 2 other customers, but that’s probably not unusual for that time of day and year.

Best Indian I've ever had! Absolutely delicious food and a nice atmosphere. I will definitely be visiting here again soon, the chef's specials were just unbelievable. The drinks on tap were also pretty good too!

Lovely food very close to town centre. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. Very pleasant staff and nice surroundings.all in all we throughly enjoyed it.

Despite minor issue with waiter spilling a drink, all was resolved quickly and professionally and the food was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone after a good curry.

The service really stood out, the waiters were extremely welcoming. We paid a really good price for the things we got. The portions were generous and the food really really good!

Great service and staff. Food was ok. Starters were tasty, we had the mixed for 2. Main courses were mixed, one much better than the other but that’s probably more our taste. Everything was very well prepared.

The whole experience was excellent. The staff were polite and friendly. We had poppadoms with dips which were very tasty. My partner had the chicken Balti and I had the lamb along with garlic and coriander naan and rice, all superb. In addition we were offered a liquer to finish - lovely!

It's gone down in my experience since last year meal are not as good. We were asked if we wanted dessert twice we said we only want coffee we waited a while for them .so I don't think we will be going back again next time we are in york sorry.

Lovely place to eat, resteraunt was very busy Friday evening we pre booked., Although Staff very busy the service was excellent, and very polite. free Bailey's to finish was a nice touch. been twice before and will go again next time we're in York.
