Blacksticks

Prefer old version menus with set dishes complete with vegetables and potato variations, as in the past. Not sure what some items were on menu.

we had a very nice 3 course meal from the early bird menu.There were 4 of us,it was a birthday treat from our daughter to my wife and we all had a lovely time.The only negative ,from my point of view,was the music was too loud and not to my taste,but there again I am 71.

The food is always good here but the drink prices! £8.40 for a glass of Malbec I think it was. We’re in Eccles! The service, as always, was great.

Came for Mother’s Day lunch with my 6 month old son and wife. Great choice from the set menu and good value at £20 a head. Attentive and knowledgable waiting staff, nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend and looking forward to returning.

Took my mum for an early Mother’s Day treat, visited a few years ago but wasn’t the best experience but now it’s lovely, Tables are adequately spaced so you don’t feel blocked in and it has been renovated to make it all open plan and feel more spacious. The service was brilliant, all the staff was attentive and the food was just fantastic. I will definitely be visiting here again and 100% recommended x

We dined at 8.30, the food was delicious cant fault it. Me and my husband were celebrating my birthday, the atmosphere wasn't bad . We were near a group of ladies who were quite loud, so we had a bit a trouble hearing each other speak, overall very nice meal

It was Wednesday night, so the atmosphere was a little flat but the food and the staff made up for it.

Absolutely gorgeous meal the early bird menu we went for and the mussels in the sauce with the hot bread lovely 😊 my wife had the goats cheese again lovely my lamb for main was cooked to perfection with fat chips mint sauce and the cauliflower crumb vegetable superb my wife chose the fish of the day which was hake again beautifully cooked and very tasty the young chap we had as our waiter was lovely too along with the wine we will definitely be back well done Blacksticks thank you 😊

Although Blacksticks is one of my favourite restaurants it had been a while since I dined there so for our anniversary we booked a table for 2. Upon arrival we noticed the change in layout but it looked fresher and more rustic. We were a little put off by the poor choice of dress by some customers i.e. bubble jacket, shorts and trainers on a cold February night and the volume of noise from some diners. Fortunately, they soon left as the early bird menu had finished. The menu has changed to a Spanish type menu and we were a little put-off but decided to stay. To be honest, the food and service were absolutely fantastic and the staff so chatty. We ended up having a lovely meal. Definitely go back, but not as overdressed as we were that night.

We had a tapas banquet, (we chose lots of tapas rather than individual entrées)... a great way of sampling their fab food and also introducing people to foods their palates may not have tasted before. Rather noisy but it was a Saturday night with birthday celebrations going on around us so one has to be reasonable.
