Food is just ok ! The lobster fried was too oily , wagyu beef should be red ! No good like internet told ! The service is nice and friendly!
The black cod was good, the steak alright though it's was not proper wagyu steak, the lobster rice I don't think was worth it for£10 side maybe with trying a different side, triple cooked cod we done well. Service was good was friend's birthday and they gave a free brownie with candle which was rather nice.
Black Cod and other dishes were amazing, but some improvement can be made on Wagyu steak. Black Cod was very well marinated with japanese miso and soy sauce, and it was sweet and flavoursome.
Lovely pop-up restaurant! I loved all the food, we shared both cod and wagu, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Even tried stake tartare for the first time, and the lobster croquettes were delicious. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and knowledgeable taking tome to talk to us, I will definitely be going back and would recommend to anyone!
Wagyu was a little bit underwhelming, tasted no matter than good steak I've had before now. However the cod was perfect and the sides were also great.
The staff were polite and the food was very nice. The restaurant is rather dark the description is slightly mis-leading. Would recommend and go again.
Excellent starters and cocktails. My wife really enjoyed the beef, but I found the glaze on the cod a little too sweet. Not sure their take on Thai papaya salad added to the experience, but overall a pretty good meal.
Great, cannot fault the food, service or pricing. Would recommend to anyone. Several of my friends visited on my recommendation and also were not disappointed
The services was excellent Food is also nice Waguy steak was a bit smaller than I expected but overall it was a really nice dining experience.
Great value for the mains. Other dishes are more pricey but still worth it. The wagyu is high grade rump and worthy of a visit. The black cod has to be my favourite though.
Service was great, the black cod is definitely worth trying. The steak stated it's wagyu beef but it tasted very standard to me. For £20 I can't expect the best cut but it's no wagyu experience.
Fantastic Service. Even when we were fussing over which wine to choose the waitress was super patient, and attentive. Lovely food and atmosphere. Cabbage is INCREDIBLE.
Service was great and food speedy as well as delicious. Server (forgotten name - sorry! - he was dark haired, slender and tall) was very informative and personable.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent music. The ambiance here was also notable. We really enjoyed both the black cod and wagyu so I can't pick a favorite. We also had the shrimp tempura, lobster rice and cabbage. Each and every dish was perfectly cooked (although my husband didn't enjoy the cabbage being charred... Added flavor in my opinion). Wagyu perfectly cooked, best version of cod I've ever had. Super clean bathrooms and friendly wait staff. All of this for VERY reasonable prices. We will definitely be back! Make this permanent!!!
The job of a food reviewer is to accurately convey the taste, texture, smell, and presentation of a restaurant's food. You not only comment on the food but also on the atmosphere, staff knowledge and attentiveness, the speed of service, the general impression of the restaurant or cafe. A great food review puts the reader at your table with you, allowing them to decide whether or not they want to visit the restaurant when they're done reading.
Not Japanese Wagyu but very nice nevertheless - Angus and Wagyu blend. Offered Japanese version but three times the price for half the amount. Cod lovely - sweetness overpowered salty side but still great texture. Thai salad good too. Nice sauv blanc from NZ to wash it down. Overall circa 70 a head for two courses. I think you get what you pay for. Will go again.
Great atmosphere, great food and lovely staff! We had a brilliant time. The wagyu was utterly incredible, but the cod was the star of the show! 100% recommended!
Food was so tasty and staff were amazing. So sad it is only for a short while, the experience was unforgettable for my father’s birthday. Thank you so much to all involved.
The black cod and wagyu pop up is actually tucked away behind a curtain in a hidden area near the bar. Food was amazing and service was friendly, personal and generally a cut above.
The food was amazing and surprisingly filling (and I'm fat so...) and the service top notch. The whiskey and gin selection was quite good too.
good food, overpriced- all the food was good but came to 160 quid for 2 and we only had 2 drinks each, also sittings are a little rushed
Great little restaurant attached the Zelmans restaurant in the bar at the back. Both the Black Cod and Wagyu were delicious, although portions a bit small for £20. The lobster rice as a side dish is also fantastic!
Staff and service was amazing and incredibly friendly, food was great too although options are slightly limited but I guess main purpose for visit is for the black cod and wagyu anyways.
Too overpriced and the portions were too small. Not coming back again. Oh, and that was definetely not wagyu. 100% sure about that. It was a joke.
The food and the service were both excellent. I can’t wait to visit again! I really loved the stackable wine idea. Complemented the food perfectly!
Service was quick and attentive without being overbearing. The wagyu was good along with the side of cabbage. I felt the lobster rice was slightly expensive for what it was but it was still tasty. I would go back to try the cod next time.
Service, starters and desserts were great. The mains were not. Wagyu was all right but the cod was a let down and not the best quality of fish
Food was overpriced and barely average. Bot up to the delicacy description the pop up was sold with. Quite disappointed. For 75/person I expected way better food.
Great food and atmosphere. Definitely, recommend this place considering the high-quality food for only £20. I would go there again. The wagyu steak and black cod were both excellent.
Cod was delicious and wagyu so succulent that could cut with a fork! Tasty sides too. Staff were friendly, knowledgable yet unobtrusive. Thank you for a lovely evening
Both Wagyu & Black Cod were incredible. Wine was delicious and the service was great. Only thing that could be improved are the chips, they were disappointing.
Amazing Wagyu beef, to die for lobster croquettes. Black cod - nice but a tad too salty. A plain jasmine rice should be on the menu to balance the saltiness Overall good concept
Lovely and relaxed venue. Generous proportions and very good value. Delicious surf and turf Black cod and wagyu steak. Hugh side order of triple fries enough to share. Great Tuna Tartar starter. All in all highly recommended.
Wagyu ok but not excellent as expected. Overall expensive and not really worth it. Restaurant is located inside another’s one bar. Service is good but that’s about it.
We had a very good time there yesterday. I really recommend the lobster croquettes, the beef and the cabbage that was really and surprisingly good! I wasn’t fan of the umeshu negroni but the wine was (Rioja) was very good. The staff and the service were excellent! We’ll come back!
Excellent, all the food was fantastic. The service was great. They provided a complimentary brownieeith a candle for my mum as it was her birthday. Glad I’m going again later in the month!
Waiters 10/10 (they are so cute and funny!) Food 9/10 (saving my 10’s for A5 Japanese Wagyu) Atmosphere 1/10 (drunk loud crowds at 7:30pm) Overall dining experience 1/10 (drunk people sat down on our table and wouldn’t go away)
Great company great food, lovelly wine. Superb. Serving staff we're on point. Nothing to give a negative about. Will definitely be going again. The Wagyu was the lick
Hi just wanted to say the food was great. So was the service...well done for making my girlfriend’s birthday a great evening, we shall be back!!
The food was excellent. Good price and good service. It was surprising though that we weren't asked how we'd like our steaks cooked. Fortunately they arrived cooked just right - though I prefer it more rare. Otherwise definitely worth the price and will be going back for more, especially to try the black cod next time!
