We visited The Blackbird to celebrate my Birthday. Meal started with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco just for subscribing to their Website. The food was well prepared and presented and the staff very helpful and courteous. All in all this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and well worth it. A real jewel in Ponteland and well worth a visit.

Always a good Sunday lunch. Beef consistently of a high standard. Lovely and pink! Huge portion without the yorkshire pudding dominating the plate like a lot of pubs seem to do

Could be a little more enthusiastic, potentially take an interest in why we visited. Understand that some tables like to be left alone but others prefer a chat.

The gluten free menu was really good! And the gin menu impressive too!

First time there and shall not be the last great food and the price was just about right. I was not offered mint with my lamb, so I think the staff may need a little more training. A larger​ range for Vegies would be a suggestion.

Attentive staff. good food, apart from very fatty pork which was replaced but not much better. Also we were ushered to leave after only having the table for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Very expensive too

Nice venue. It could have been a 5 out of 5 However, I had advised on my booking that my friend had a severe egg allergy on booking online, on arrival I was extremely impressed with the effort of putting together a printed menu advising the dishes which were egg free. On ordering my friend was alarmed on attempting to order the crispy beef salad that the noodles were egg noodles (we had presumed they must have been rice noodles) and also the skinny fries served with the fish had egg in them. My friend started to get extremely concerned and felt the trust of whether there was egg or not in the dish had gone. She carries an epi pen with her given the severity. It took the edge of what should have been a wonderful lunch. Intentions would good just need to ensure that ALL elements to a dish are in fact the dietary requirement free. Not a bad review just done constructive feedback.

3rd time I’ve been there and it’s been good each time, it is a little expensive but then everything was delicious so can’t complain. Service was excellent, very attentive. Would go back again and I’d definitely recommend it.

We arranged to meet family ( 7 of us) there , everything was totally perfect ! Staff food and cosy ness ! Lovely to admire the dogs too ! Cannot wait to return ! Oh and had the best apple and almond crumble , ever!!

Our first time visiting The Blackbird Inn and we were hugely impressed by the look, feel and atmosphere of both the bar area and restaurant. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our table was ready ahead of time and drinks were served almost immediately. The food was incredible and worth every penny. All in all, an excellent experience and we will be sure to visit again. Thank you.

Food is fantastic, probably one of the best Sunday lunches around, the atmosphere in the pub is great, location is lovely and the staff are always so friendly. This is my second visit and will be back again.

Complaint was dismissed by rude member of staff who appeared to consider our concern as unworthy and therefore did not bother to relay this to the manager. Stay clear of the nut roast which was inedible. Disappointing as everything else was tasty and enjoyable. Wouldn't rush back though.

Friendly welcoming staff. Prompt service. We all enjoyed our main courses. However, the sticky toffee pudding was inedible (appeared to have been overheated in the microwave!). We were offered a replacement and when this was declined, the desserts were taken off the bill. The staff went over and above when they found we had left a phone on the table, using our contact number to inform us.

Delicious Sunday lunch again, served hot. Plenty of everything and served promptly. Don't know how they manage to serve as many people and keep the high standard.

Overall very good, pleasant time in the bar, food good, but a little slow on service (large party elsewhere delayed things - could have kept us informed).

Lovely Sunday Lunch, choice of food was good, large portions service was excellent , very popular restaurant, all the tables were full, which is always a good sign, nice ambiance. If I had to make a criticism, I would prefer the meat cut thicker

Staff good ... very friendly, vegetables good, lamb a bit tough, restaurant pretty noisy. I had requested a gluten free menu but nothing offered although I managed by leaving a couple of things off. Probably would return but didn’t quite live up to reputation

Lovely venue with exceptional food. Service was slow but staff were apologetic and are great at what they do which made the experience even more pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

Really poor service from start to finish, appreciate there were big tables in restaurant, but waiting nearly 2 hours for 2 courses is quite poor. It was a shame as food was nice.

Very poor service it took a long time to get drinks the plates weren’t cleared! No one came to ask how the meal was! Waited to get bill then waited for bill to be picked up!

Excellent food and good service. We were made to feel welcome and not rushed at all. A very enjoyable lunch with a very high standard of tasty food.

We had a fabulous night. great choice of food, that tasted lovely, and was presented very well. The staff looked after us all night, and although we sat at our table until late, as we rarely get together, we were never made to feel that they wanted us to leave or move into the bar.
