Bird in Hand

I came with my fried Jackie who had not been here before. She was pleasantly surprised at the quality of everything that the Bird in Hand had to offer. She will be back and will recommend this place to family and friends. Brilliant result !

Had yet another fabulous experience at the Bird and hand. The food is presented beautifully with a mix of flavours that all just work so well together. Our waiter was brilliant and made our experience perfect.

Service prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. There was a little bit of a wait for food but nothing to complain about when it comes freshly cooked and hot. There was a buzz of noise but it created a good atmosphere. Food excellent as usual.

Arrived at 12 noon. Pretty much the first to be seated by a very pleasant waitress. Another waitress took our order. Two starters from our party of four plus four mains. It was one of those restaurant experiences that just kills the moment. You arrive first and get served starters almost twenty minutes after all the other tables around you are on their mains! Apology made for the delay when presenting my starter which was barely warm so had to be returned. The mains were served shortly after the starters had been cleared but overall a very long wait. Again the mains were satisfactory but tepid at best by this time I'd had enough and wasn't prepared to wait further, clearly they had been sat waiting under hot lamps waiting to served whilst the delayed starters were finished? Overall a poor and disappointing experience after several previous more enjoyable visits. Unlikely to return sadly.

As usual, our visit was a good experience, staff are so friendly and relaxed. They always make the visit enjoyable Andy not rushed. The menu has something for everyone but for me it has to be the calves liver which is always the best. My husband only goes the the sticky toffee pudding!

Great food and service as always. The salted caramel sauce on vanilla ice cream is i think the perfect way to end a meal if you dont fancy a big dessert!

I have never been disappointed at the B in H. The food was excellent with a wide variety on offer. Of particularly good value was the Mid-week 2/3 course lunch.

We had a great visit once more. They have many choices and everything we tried until now was delicious.

This was our first time here and we both had the nut roast. My parsnip was so hard I had to leave it, the Yorkshire over cooked and the roast potatoes not fully cooked. The nut roast was ok , my husband enjoyed his more than I did. The staff were charming, so helpful and friendly. The desserts were really good, we had bonoffee pie and choice brownie, would come back but not for the roast.

Superb lunch for my wife and I with our young niece on a visit . The reviews we read held out the promise of a good meal and we were not disappointed. We have not met our niece for 2 years and needed time to catch up The staff were brilliant and allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The food was excellent and we were very impressed indeed.

Second time here. Amazing food - especially the specials....would highly recommend. The decor is a little sad and could do with a lick of paint but other than that, a wonderful place.
