Excellent food, generous portions. Good choice on menu, Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Service could have been quicker, but otherwise highly recommend for an enjoyable evening.

Delicious Sunday lunch. The roast beef was great, unfortunately dessert was disappointing. Apple crumble is one of my favourites but appeared with only the lightest sprinkle of crumble, not the old school dessert I'd hoped for.

We had an excellent meal with some very creative elements in composition and presentation. The staff were very attentive. We thought it offered reasonably good value. Unfortunately there were two other very noisy tables in a smallish part of the restaurant -- one a table of 16 including some very young children, the other a table of 6 (7?) with very loud voices. Both made conversation quite difficult.

Notice friendly atmosphere. Very good service. Friendly and helpful staff. Great menu and quality food nicely presented. We visit the Bird in Hand regularly and are never disappointed.

Came here for an anniversary dinner. Hake goujons to start and veggie burger, both excellent. Lovely service. What more can you want! Thanks Bird In Hand.

A very imaginative menu. Even if the dishes are"standard", there is an interesting twist to it. Food is delicious and well presented. Service is excellent. On my favourites list.

Wonderful pub - beautiful setting (the beer garden is gorgeous!), the food is consistently amazing and the staff are lovely, warm, helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The booking was easy to do online, the service was excellent with a nice bottle of water on arrival. The food was really lovely and well presented. No better way to celebrate our anniversary.

Food lovely and service very attentive and efficient. Nothing to fault regarding the restaurant. You have to bare in mind that this is a local pub and although the food is a step up from the usual pub grub, it is still a pub so not the place to go to if you want a quiet intimate atmosphere. Lots of hard surfaces which makes for a noisy dining experience. Easy to keep clean but you have to raise your voice a bit to be heard. Would I go back there again? Yes, definitely, but maybe on a quieter weekday night.

Good service. The food was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our family birthday meal. We did find it quiet noisy at times, but then many pubs can be. Will be going to Bird in Hand again at some point.

as a regular customer in the restaurant I was yet again most impressed with the meal we had on Sunday 8th July. Beautifully presented, delicious and with impeccable service, I recommend the Bird in Hand to everyone.

We had a large table reserved for outside and the weather changed to rain. The staff had already checked the weather and reserved us another table inside! So helpful.

We had the set meal. The main courses were lovely. We found the description of the deserts a little misleading and one of the party was expecting a crumble, which wasn't what turned up, so changed their desert choice. Perhaps they are trying to be what they are not. Having said that, overall we enjoyed our meal there. Only comment I would make is the restaurant seems very noisy.

Great service from very attentive staff. The food was excellent - well presented and good portion size. Menu caters for all sizes of appetite so really easy to find some to suit.

On a busy night, the food was excellent and the waitress helpful and attentive. Really is the best casual dining for miles around. Go there.

We hadn't been to the Bird in Hand since the refurbishment; but it was well worth a revisit, it's still a pub with a restaurant, but the menu is now something different and way beyond what you might expect in a pub. I had the Grilled Chorizo for a starter followed by a wonderful Lightly Battered Hake and my wife had Smoked Mackerel Mousse followed by Baked Portobello Mushroom Wellington, all of which were beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The wine list was also good with a wide range catering for all tastes and pockets. We both said "we must come here again". As for the staff, we would like to single out "Helen" for her help with the menu and her positive and friendly demeanour.

Dinner for 4 people and a really enjoyable evening in the restaurant. Service was efficient & friendly and the food was really good, will definitely be visiting again.

Once again The Bird in Hand delivered. It's not pub grub prices and it's part of a busy pub, but the food and service are are so good, it doesn't matter. Our waitress was slightly older than usual, and her experience showed in her understanding of what makes great customer service. She was attentive, helpful and polite without being pushy. This time I had the lovely chorizo starter and the calves liver both of which I'd recommend.

The sharing taster plates were excellent and amazingly generous portions. Banana sundae terrific too. Lovely service. It was a bit noisy in the main dining room but it was very busy on a Friday night so not surprising - if you want a quieter meal ask to be seated by a wall rather than the middle of the room.

Varied menu - everything from really good burgers to delicious whole food salads, great sharing plates and nibbles! Tasty food really well presented and excellent service.

A1 Sunday roast.. Maginally let down by the broccoli and cauliflower cheese which for one person is one side dish, and four two persons, you're expected to share (same size) with the same cost per person?? Overall, a superb dinner and although it's not cheap, it's good value. Recommended

Really excellent meal. All 3 courses were excellent and washed down with some very nice Rioja. Staff were efficient and very friendly. Looking foreward to my next visit.

Excellent food and very good service. Our only comment is that it was rather noisy, due to very little sound absorbing material. Difficult to speak to each other across the table. (One accepts a certain amount of noise when restaurants are very busy)

Excellent and very specially delicious meal to celebrate a birthday. I can recommend the kiwi Eton mess... and the Rioja with the rump steak ...yumm!

Amazing food and great service. Had a lovely time here. Sunday lunch was great and good portion sizes. Table of 4 and we had 4 Sunday lunches and puddings and all the food was good. I am a vegetarian and catered for really well Highly recommended

Great family meal. The roasts were amazing. The table was quite cramped and the kids menu could be simpler. The mash in particular was heavily seasoned with salt and pepper which isn’t ideal for younger children.

This was my first time, I had been recommended by a friend that I trust, having managed luxury hotels all over the world, I have rather high standards, the staff were excellent, I feel the menu is a little lacking I did not find the starters interesting, the food is of good quality but I did not find enough variety. The Hummus was tasty but the pita bread should have been presented in small more manageable size slices. I shall return, but I hope you expand the menu , I enjoy the restaurant at the Red Lion, I have had many good meals there. I hope my information is useful Regards Ann J.Tillman-Greene

Great food, good service, reasonable prices, and set on the Woking to Guildford road, Surrey. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Well worth a visit. They have never disappointed my guests or I. Thank you all.

Lovely food and friendly service as always. We had the swordfish special with risotto and passion fruit mojhito. Very tasty! No doubt we’ll be back soon.

Fantastic Roast Dinner!!! Good quality beef melts in your mouth. Lots of veg and plenty of gravy!! Annoying thing was we were asked if we were going to give a tip by the waitress when paying. We would of anyway but felt pressured

A very good venue, excellent chef, good service. the only downer on this occasion was that I was gasping for a drink, know they put bottles of water on your table when you arrive, I actually had to ask for one, it never came. I was too proud to ask again, I hate having to do that.

Good food and very good service. A large party arrived and the noise was a bit overpowering which tempered the enjoyment. Obviously not the fault of the restaurant that large numbers want to use it !!

Great Sunday roasts. Struggled to finish them. Very friendly service. Difficult to carry on a conversation as all the hard surfaces and a busy lunchtime service made it very noisy.
