Went for a friends birthday, not disappointed, good atmosphere and excellent service and food.
Fantastic food, good service, lovely atmosphere. We will be back.
Great food and menu choice. Staff polite. Will definately book again.
Great service and fabulous food - shame that the noise from the bar and the music made it a bit hard to hear our own conversation at times.
Fantastic food, so well presented, always a high standard and value for money,
Delicious food and good service. This is a very popular place to eat so book early.
Friendly and attentive staff, food very good. Soon got very busy.
Went today for lunch. Have been twice previously for both lunch and dinner (a particular favourite on the menu being the seafood platter, but generally all the food being very good). Strangely today we were only given the ‘lunch’ menu and were told the seafood platter (amongst other things) is only available for dinner. Presumably there has been a change as I had several items from the ‘dinner’ menu on my previous visit at lunch. Long story short, the ‘lunch’ menu was a disappointment. Ordinary pub food that wasn’t good value for money. The ‘dinner’ menu is superb and great value for money. I recommend that either Bird in Hand scrap the lunch menu and bring back the dinner menu for lunch....or people should only visit at dinner time.
Excellent all round! Fabulous food, exceptional service, good value for money! Would highly recommend.
Great service, very nice beer and delicious food. Thank you!
All lovely as always - shame about a loud group of young people having lunch but they were enjoying themselves. We just leaned across the table at times to hear each other.
The Bird in Hand is a wonderful, friendly and inviting pub but it’s flourishes come with its delicious, seasonal food and sharp staff. These are the things you leave fond of and the reason why so many people come back again and again. Thank you for getting it just right! A hard, masterful thing to do after - no doubt - a lot of training and a lot of trail and error.
staff very pleasant and efficient. Will visit the restaurant again.
Excellent and interesting food...charming staff ...nothing was too much trouble.
We visit the Bird in Hand quite often and as always the service was efficient and friendly, our questions regarding the menu were answered in a very knowledgeable way. Well done.
We visited for a birthday celebration - very tasty meals. Lovely kids meals too. Service was good too. Puddings also exceptional. Will be returning again.
This was my second visit. We all liked the food. However, they had changed their menu a few days ago and for me there were 2 dishes in the old menu which were exceptional delicious and they should have kept offering them. 1. Slow cooked pork belly with mashed potato and herbs. 2. Fish and shrimps with risotto.
An interesting and varied menu, very well presented and served by caring staff. Comfortable and relaxed suroundings for an enjoyable midweek family meal. Would definitely return.
Lovely food...had a couple of dishes off the 'small plates' section which we shared with a side of chips. Really tasty and well presented. Comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommend and will look forward to a return visit.
Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. Great for families with children, staff were very friendly and service was quick despite it being a busy time with large parties in.
This is a favourite for my family as it caters for children and my disabled father. Would highly recommend! The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic!! The menu is varied - make sure you save room for the desserts 🧁
Service was great Food very nice But small protions, had to order cheese board to fill up Not a great choice of beer I would go back though Thanks Simon
Really good service and atmosphere along with fabulous food. There really aren’t many, if any better places to eat in Woking! Give it a go!
Great food, service and atmosphere. 3rd time here and never disappointed. I would definitely recommend ....... .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .....
This is my second visit, it’s a really nice place and I would still recommend it and go back myself. However I didn’t feel the service was as good this time and the steak I ordered was over done and came with burnt chips. My husband really enjoyed his mussels though.
The service was Fast and efficient, the staf were friendly and helpful, there was plenty of choice in the menu and the food was good
A lovely pub, you can’t fault the food or the service. We will definitely return. Lovely Sunday roast and great children’s menu. Top marks yummy!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, good value We had the roasts and puddings and would definitely recommend We look forward to our next visit
Delicious sharing Camembert to start with rump steak and a lovely red wine. Great food at a slightly more than average price, but well worth it. Very happy and efficient staff.
This was one of our favourite restaurants. Returned for an anniversary dinner but found reduced choice. Ate only a sharing plate and desserts which were tasty but would have liked a main course instead.
Lovely pub and restaurant, great food and drink at a really good standard and great value for money. Thoroughly recommend. Definitely would go back again. Thankyou
A great pub with excellent food. The staff are unfailingly friendly and professional The food itself is reasonably priced and very good quality with plenty of vegetarian options. I have eaten there a number of times and never been dissapointed. The local Thurston beer is also really nice.
We had very good sunday lunch food. The service is good. The menu was good. The prices were reasonable. This is a place that we plan to go frequently.
Really good evening, made so by a great atmosphere and surroundings, good menu and great food, good service and reasonable prices - what’s not to like? All helped by the choice of big or little plate versions (really useful at this time of year when money is so tight after Xmas) and kids pudding portions so you can enjoy but not overindulge on the sweet and best stuff😁
Imaginative menu and good quality dishes. Helpful staff and service. There was Plenty of parking and easily accessible being not far from Woking town centre
Service was faultless , main course was a very average Sunday roast but desert was then a pleasant surprise. Decor and ambiance just lacking in anything that would make you want to return
Excellent food, friendly service, really nice atmosphere. I love this place! This was my second visit and I would definitely go again. I absolutely recommend!
Great food and lovely service even delaying one meal so my Dad could push my baby to sleep outside. Would highly recommend The Bird in the Hand.
The service was good. The menu was not as interesting as 10 months ago when there was a better selection and when the specials for the day were very appealing. However, what we ordered was well prepared and presentation was good.
Have been a few times now and have had lovely food and great service. The food is lot better than many local gastro type pubs.
Good food, good atmosphere and good service! Portions were good sizes - didnt have room for dessert, but all the options sounded great. Staff were very friendly and polite
The pub itself was great and the staff were super professional and friendly. The food was delicious and came in "proper portions". We will definitely be returning.
A little pricey but made up for by the very good quality and well presented food. Perhaps a little more choice of main courses could be considered as it was fairly limited. Overall a very enjoyable night as the atmosphere of the restaurant and service from our very friendly waitress were both excellent. I will definitely return.
Warm and comfortable on a very cold evening. We have now dined at the Bird In Hand on a number of occasions, and have found both the food and service consistently excellent.
Great atmosphere, great service and lovely food. Would highly recommend The Bird in Hand for a relaxed meal, with family and friends. Well worth a visit.
Best food in the area by far. Served elegantly, was tasty and enjoyable with a varied menu. Desserts are sublime. Reasonable prices for good food.
Food served quickly and was very good - soup was even hot which can be a rare occurrence these days! Staff were very friendly too.
First time I have been there and it was great, would really recommend this place and hope to go back soon. From the first friendly welcome, the overall service and attention, excellent hot food on hot plates and the overall choice. Works for me every time, there is nothing to stop me going back. I might suggest that the decor needs a little updating, its a little "tired", but apart from that minor comment, for me, there was little to fault. Well done Bird in the Hand - from a "picky" customer.
Bird in Hand is more than just à British Pub, it is a Gastronomic Pub! Each plate from the starters to the desserts are very thoughtful with a very quality of ingredients. The atmosphere is remarquable, friendly and very wellcome. The owner, Marcus, the team are pleased to make you happy. It is so rare. I will recommand this warm place!
Lovely food and nice decor inside. Service was ok, but they forgot my drink so I had to chase them. Ran out of hot chocolate.
