When the food arrived my first reaction was the portions were a little on the small side but they looked inventive and interesting on the plate and tasted delicious so I was happy! Same applies to the cheeseboard dessert - always seems to be the case wherever you go that there’s not enough crackers - but great combination of cheese, crackers, crisp breads celery, pear and chutney - scrum 👍

The food was not too good and the wine was expensive

Food was excellent. There was a large party celebrating an 85th birthday which was lovely to see, however, the noise levels were almost too much at times. The waitress apologised which showed thought and care on her part. The noise levels are the only real downside for this excellent restaurant.

Had a selection of small plates and nibbles with a couple of sandwiches to share between four of us. No problems with that. Very accommodating. Food was very good. A small comment on the pigs in blankets...would have preferred smaller sausages wrapped in the bacon and maybe sausages browned a little more (but that is very much a personal preference). Would we eat here again? Most definitely, Yes! Thank you, Bird in Hand, for a lovely lunch.

Lovely visit for a Sunday roast and nice to see it not to busy even on Easter Sunday. Good selection of roasts as well as normal menu. We had beef and pork and both excellent with enough veg for us. Great service.

I had the lamb and was asked if I wanted any sauces, I asked for mint sauce ‘well it was lamb’. They had ran out the day before. How can you serve lamb and not have mint sauce. They did make some but it arrived half way through the meal and seemed a bit surprised when they asked did I really need some and I said ‘yes’!

We enjoyed our meal very much. Staff were cheerful and attentive. Some tables were a bit noisy but, by chance, we timed our visit well and the noisy tables left not too long after we ordered. Food was great. We would be happy to come back.

a lot more gravy would be great please - to dry

We had a very nice lunch there. The service is very good. The building is nice. The food is very good and good priced.

The food and service were both good and The Bird in Hand has a nice feel to it.

A little dissapointed, food not up to their usual standard, one of our party had to have their meal reheated.

Very friendly place and friendly welcome which is very unusual in this country. Food was delicious but somewhat cold. The chairs were uncomfortable and we had to change them for more comfy ones! Very pleasant place.

Really nice restaurant and the food was really good. Only complaint was the extra 3 desserts and 2 drinks that ended up on our bill. Worth checking!

The parking was dreadful, the car park was full of vans & pickup trucks? Not enough disabled parking spaces! The pub itself was heaving with men by the bar. And I mean heaving! Unfortunately for us we came in the entrance by the car park as mum is disabled & I was looking for the shortest route! To make our way through the crowd to the restaurant area wasn’t easy, especially with my disabled mum. The food was tasty & I cannot complain although the menu choice was disappointing. The food wasn’t good enough for us to endure another battle to get to the seating area, and sadly, we won’t be returning or recommending. Such a shame!

It was very quiet in the restaurant, as it was a Monday evening this was to be expected,but this was ideal. The food was excellent and staff attentive . Would happily go again.

We had a table for 6 at the back of the restaurant, away from the bar on a Saturday evening.Food was very good and lovely serving staff . Food is beautifully presented. We had quite a noisy table beside us, which makes hearing difficult, but it’s better than it used to be in the restaurant area. Not a cheap dining venue, but very good quality and always nice specials offered. Would recommend.

Was very disappointed at the time we had to wait at the bar for a drink as we decided to have a drink in the garden before our meal. Two bartenders spent about 10mins at the till and did not even acknowledge us or even say they would be with us once they had solved the problem with the till. Needless to say the food and service in the restaurant was excellent

We enjoyed our meal - it was busy and service was a bit slow but we weren’t too worried as not tied to time fortunately! The car park was full My friend is lactose intolerant and we felt that was handled very well when she ordered her dessert - the waitress returned to describe the pudding she’d chosen in more detail and check that it was ok for her - she really appreciated that! I had a lemon posset - it was tasty but dense and quite set - not what I’d expect (or have had here before) as a posset!! All in all we had a tasty meal and enjoyed our visit. Thank you!
