Bird in Hand

All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu was tempting and the food we saw being served around us looked enticing. We had a very enjoyable lunch.

We decided to book a table for four for a birthday lunch. The menu was varied with a good 2/3 course set lunch. Service was quick and efficient. Much enjoyed. Thank you.

Excellent food, beautifully presented. The staff were very knowledgeable about the food and wines making the whole meal a wonderful experience. I have no hesitation in recommending the Bird in Hand.

We had an excellent meal which included a children's menu that was greatly appreciated by our grandchildren. The staff were welcoming and provided us with a prompt service

We took some friends along who were very impressed with the changes to the Bird in Hand since their last visit. Our waitress was attentive and super helpful. Every meal was well presented and delicious. The ham hock starter is worth a special mention, and the banana splits didn't take long to disappear!

Pleasant evening had by all. Relaxed atmosphere and staff tried hard to ensure our meal went smoothly despite being very busy. Reasonable choice of food to cater for most tastes.

Tonight we had a dinner table for four. We have been here several times as usual there was very good service by friendly staff in a nice restaurant, a good menu and reasonably priced high quality food.

Well cooked food and friendly service. We will be back. After confirmation that small plates were in fact starters, I had fish goujons with tartare sauce followed by steak. Good pub food, and well kept beer - I was a happy customer.

Good service and excellently prepared food. Having been for a few visits felt the menu was rather limited if you didn't want burgers or sausages. But do not let you put you off as food is of a high level.

Very warm welcome for an early dinner. Selected specials from chalk board which were excellent in both presentation and taste. The staff are both pleasant and attentive. Bird in hand continues to please.

The girl who were serving for our table was excellent. We were all feeling welcomed and friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent as well but the only disappointment was the coffee wasn't hot. Definitely we will come back again.

They were super accommodating as I had booked the wrong day! However, we were sat without menus for a while, we had to ask for a wine list. Nobody came back to take our drinks order so we were left with water until the mains arrived. Our dessert was forgotten so it took ages. On the plus sides the food was lovely and really well presented and the staff were friendly but just not really on the ball.

My husband and I had a lovely meal served by helpful friendly staff. Highly recommend. We will return very soon as we enjoyed it so much.

Great service, great food. Don't go here often enough. We had a table buy a window which we had to open as it was a little stuffy in there (they probably needed to turn the AC on). Acoustics not the best but they cant do anything about that.

This is. Lovely gastronomic pub. The food is well made and well plated. A little noisy for me but that's the ambience that works. Not necessarily what I was expecting!

Good menu, incl gluten free and excellant service, not overbearing but very accessible and attentive. Choices Cumberland sausage, liver, lamb and cod & chips. Very light batter.

Not only did we have a fabulous meal at The Bird in Hand but all the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and whilst they are often busy make you feel very valued and important. The wine selection is excellent also. It is often busy with a great atmosphere and I am already looking forward to my next trip there. Highly recommended

As always good and staff excellent. Felt very welcome and we could take our time choosing. Only couple of negatives was the River Exe Mussels were tiny and not many of them which was a shame as they tasted amazing. Also very noisy in there as high ceilings and hard floors which made having a conversation difficult.

Good menu with a Specials board. Food is amazing. Service very good. Just tends to be very noisy as the general chatter seems to amplify somehow.

I've eaten at Bird in the Hand many times before and always loved the food and received a warm welcome. Unfortunately this visit was on Mother's Days and my parents first visit to the Bird in the Hand. I'd have to say whilst the food and staff were still lovely as always it was very apparent the staff were rushed off their feet. I'd made our table reservation many weeks before our visit so I was very disappointed to find they had to move one of the smaller bar tables into the restaurant to accommodate us. Even worse we were squashed up against wall with a huge plant hanging over us also swallowing my father. After 10 minutes at the table we decided it would be a much more pleasant experience if we went back into the less crowded bar and ate there. I won't let this experience put me off but have to say I'll think twice before choosing to eat out on Mother's Day again.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Bird in Hand. The staff were very accommodating, the service was great and the food beautiful. I have eaten there several time now and it has never disappointed. I will be back.

The food was great, interior is great. Service was good all evening until it came to getting the bill, took them about 20 minutes before I could get a hold of someone (although they kept walking near us and ignoring us) they also didn't offer us drinks so I assumed they were getting the bill for us. Either way it was a good night. You can get 20% with the the good time guide card/app.

The food was amazing and we received great service and the best espresso Martini's on the planet. Our waitress was very patient with us. Would highly recommend.

The food in this pub/ restaurant is very good. I have there on four occasions now and it has been exceptional. Service and welcome also excellent. I fullyrecommend it
