Food excellent, service excellent, priced well, lovely ambiance, went with friends who had not been before, they really loved it, tucked away didn’t even know it was there, will be back very soon.

Great service and food, not rushed. Good choice in menu, obviously a favourite for the locals as became very busy also with the takeaways. Definitely recommend.

Went for a curry with friends - we all had a fabulous time and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere- already booked to do it again!

The Sunday set menu at £12.00 per person is good value and the food was delicious. The staff and service were very good and attentive..

Great food, great service. We have been dining at Basmati, Locks Heath regularly over the last 10 years and have never been disappointed with the good quality food.

We had a lovely meal here last night. Very tasty. The service was quick and the staff very friendly. I will defiantly be coming back.

Great food and service. We had a mix of special dishes, each one was well presented, with unique flavours. The waiter advised on what side dishes to have, which complemented the meal.

They couldn't find my name but I was still given a table with excellent service and will definitely going there again. Beautiful meal which was the highlight of a special evening.

Restaurant was nice, one of the staff was lovely and made us feel welcome the other one should have stayed home that night, he was surly and clearly didn’t want to be there, we had been recommended to come here, sadly for us the food wasn’t good, very bland, we probably wouldn’t go back

An Indian restaurant for good food, not overspiced like some with good, friendly service at a reasonable price. We have been several times recently all with the same positive result

All little busy what with a birthday celebration but that didn’t effect the quality of the food or the times between courses. Overall, a good evening

First visit, will definately be going again, great food, good service, nice ambiance., conveniently located with no parking restrictions, only thing that could be an improvement perhaps would be table cloths, but all good.

Great service. Lovely meal and friendly staff. Not very busy but probably due to the inability to take card payments. Cash only. Seen this before on door so not sure if card machine ever working or installed?

Service was great as usual. Thought I’d try something new, the wild lemon lamb. It was a bit disappointing, no heat and a bit greasy. Maybe it just wasn’t for me as everything else was good. My wife’s chicken chat was delicious.

We had a lovely birthday meal yesterday, they went to the effort to put balloons out and confetti and the highchair was there waiting for us and the children were given lollies at the end, would highly recommend!

Excellent food and service at reasonable prices. Restaurant ambience could be improved with more intimate lighting and would prefer to see table clothes to enhance the overall dining experience.

It was very easy to book online. We had great service, and the food was delicious. We would definitely return to the restaurant and have take always for Basmati and definitely recommend to others.

Lovely meal, go here regularly, cannot fault the food and drink at all. Highly recommend. Butter chicken is yummy! And house wine is very good too.

Overpriced for the quality of food. They got my wife's main course order wrong which was a real shame. The lamb sheek for starter was very dry. The mint ice cream desert was a bowl of cold syrup.

Great food and service but the restaurant can be very noisy so if you want quiet romantic meal this may not be the one. We had to move tables half way through our meal as the guy on the next table was set on telling the whole of Fareham is business and we just could not have a conversation but staff were very good and found us a table as far away as possible.

Good prompt service food very good and freshly cooked and most importantly hot. Surroundings clean and tidy also very spacious not sitting in each other's laps. Only criticism was that the portions were a bit on the small size for the price.

Customer service and quality of food is spot on every single time I go. There was not enough keema in my naan and it was replaced immediately. The decor of the restaurant is also very appealing. Customer for life.

The food was poor quality and not representative as shown on the website. It was a disappointment. We have eaten in many Indian restaurants and I also cook the good regularly therefore we know what to expect from a good venue.

Not an authentic Indian restaurant. No depth to the curry, no quality to the construction. Nice environment, good service and prices OK. Wouldn't go back.

Unfortnately I got my main course before my accompaniment as the waiter didnt listen when I said a 'well done, Peshwari Naan and the server then argued with me about it. He also failed to ring a taxi for us when we asked him to, will not return to this place nor reccommend

The food is good and the service pleasant and friendly. The restaurant is nicely proportioned and has a nice atmosphere. There is a large car park adjacent.

The service and quality of food was exceptional. Having lived in the area for 20 years and walking past Basmati 2 or 3 times a week, how have we never discovered this little gem earlier? We'll definitely be returning, and given that every table was full, we'll be using Quandoo to make sure we get a seat.
