The pizza was far away from being comparable to an Italian pizza plus the service was unkind and trying to force to order things I didn't want
Just a great place. Simple tasty food and great atmosphere. Lunch menu is fantastic value and service is quick without feeling rushed. Edinburghs best kept secret.
The staff at Bar Napoli make every customer feel like a long awaited, much wanted guest. The food is fantastic, too! We will definitely be back.
It was great! Food was fantastic and the staff were extremely nice! I will definitely return to bar Napoli very soon as I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Met up with some friends and we had the lunch special which was excellent value. Will definitely recommend to other friends and will return ourselves.
Good value meal but venue draughty/cold and some of the male waiting staff could do with a training course in customer service. One person in my party had to send her pizza back as it was cold but other than that the food was good
Excellent value for money. Don't think lunch deal can be beaten. FRIENDLY helpful staff. Worth a visit especially if on a budget. Wine of the month offer also great.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Excellent service and something for allthe family on the menu. Staff very friendly. Book at the weekend as it is very popular
Went for a birthday meal , very nice meal n friendly staff
I went with my daughter for an 18th birthday lunch. We really enjoyed our experience, the food was delicious and the service was very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend Bar Napoli to anyone that enjoys italian food.
Poor service, food very disappointing except Pizzas which were excellent. Several menu items unavailable. Set menu desert was one scoop of ice cream and spoonful of tinned mixed fruit - not what you expect. Would not go back.
Very busy, ensure to book to save disappointment. Food tasty, both pasta and meats. Reasonably priced and staff friendly. Glad I went and I would certainly go back.
Great traditional Trattoria, if you're a meat eater try the veal Milanese. Really busy, so glad we reserved a table, make sure you book through Quandoo
Delicious food at a good price and attentive staff. Good atmosphere and a lovely selection of wines and beers. Great for a pre theatre meal.
Excellent service and the food was delicious. Lunch menu was very reasonable and I would definitely recommend bar napoli. I would book in future as it does get very busy but I really enjoyed my visit
Great food and rustic Italian ambience at a reasonable price in the heart of Edinburgh. Definitely would recommend trying this place if you are in Edinburgh.
Excellent service, great, freshly cooked food at an amazing price! Good atmosphere, very busy and can't wait to return. Would recommend the pate to start and pizza for main. Dessert is usually a surprise!
Nice staff. The food was really good and big portions. House red wine is fantastic and cheap...£13'70. We will be back soon. It's better to book a table.
Excellent lunchtime special deal. Only small criticism was that we were going to order a different desert and pay the difference but the waiter placed two fruit and icecream in front of us before we had chance to say anything.
Excellent lunch. Good lunch menu with many options for starters and mains. Good sized portions and freshly cooked. Service was excellent and a good atmosphere and very busy. The price was amazing for a 3-course lunch. Returning today and next week and will highly recommend to others.
Great value for money. Had to wait on main meal for about 40 minutes as very busy. So do not be in a hurry. 3 courses for £6.75. Also I would always book
Top quality Italian food, great house wine and excellent service. I usually go for the business lunch but was not on offer over the festival period. It's still excellent value for money. If you've not already been go!
This is our 2nd visit to Bar Napoli - The food was fab - service, welcoming - great experience. Worth a visit but I recommend pre booking as it gets busy.
Cozy Italian restaurant in the heart of town. Lunch menu can't be beaten on price, excellent value for money. Wine of the month deal also great, you won't get better value for money in Edinburgh.
The Web site advertised a 3 course lunch for £6.75 however this apparently doesn't start until September. This should be stated on Web site but isn't. Waiter could not have cared less when asked about it. Food ok.
I have been going for years and recently the lunch menu has changed and also the price has gone up. service was slow for lunch which is unheard of and not the usual standard. I did complain as the starters took 45 min but I was told new tills were in place and this was the issue, no money off and no free drink etc. I will return and hope things have went back to normal as this is a great Italian in the centre of Edinburgh.
Lovely atmosphere, service and food. Huge portions of lovely Italian food. The waiters were friendly and helpful. We went during Festival time so it was very busy but that didnt deter from the service. We have been before and would definitely go again when we visit Edinburgh.
Friendly cosy restaurant excellant value for money we were able to book a table when the festival was on which was great as not a lot of places accept bookings at that time of year then it's a nightmare getting in for a meal anyplace so well done Bar Napoli for that
Highly recommended: Half lobster spaghetti (Comes in a good portion and lobster was succulent) Overall experience was great but could have been better if there were more staff available.
The waiter that served us seemed to be stressed, he was shouting at the bar staff which made me feel uncomfortable, this happened twice in the 40 mins we were there, nobody asked if the meal was okay, the waiter failed to crack a smile.needs waiter training!
Great cosy restaurant. Highly recommend their lobster spaghetti - inexpensible, only £ 13.50 and tasty with reasonable size half lobster with other seafood. Service is top with friendly staffs.
The food was excellent and well priced and the staff were very friendly. The portions were a very good size and we didn't have to wait long after ordering. House wine was very nice too
Absolutely fantastic! Not a single thing to fault, the food is delicious, the staff are very attentive & know the products well & the restaurant was clean and comfortable! Will definitely be back!
Excellent service, quality and presentation of food, from order to table less than 10 min. Tight on space if a large party is to be accommodated
Went with some colleagues for lunch and received a great lunch menu. It was very good value for money, lovely atmosphere and good food with great service.
Had a very enjoyable meal after going to the theatre, staff very efficient ,lovely atmosphere and very reasonable priced for the city centre and very generous portions .
Had to wait longer than expected for a table considering we had a reservation, that a side we couldn't fault the food it was excellent.
Great friendly staff, the food was great. My wife and I cleared our plates at our starters. We had half pizza and pasta for the main, was fantastic, highly recommend going there
There were six of us, four adults and a fourteen and twelve years old. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday. The food was good and so was the atmosphere. It was very busy considering it was a Monday evening.
Reservation time worked, table ready immediately. Service good, staff friendly and efficient. Waiting time between courses was fine. Meal and wine very good and reasonable price. Enjoyed it.
We come from Dundee and this was our fourth visit and we were very disappointed this time. The spaghetti carbonara was tasteless and the pizza base was too hard.
Traditional Italian, went for lunch in group of 6, very busy and nice buzzing atmosphere. Food first class, service good, very reasonable priced, would recommend.
We felt rushed in to making our order. The wine was delicious but that's as far as it goes. The calamari was tough and rubbery. The salad was bland. The fish main was overcooked and the steak started to make me sick half way through. Very disappointed
2nd visit here. So much choice on the menu and food was faultless. Total for 2 mains, 2 drinks each and a garlic bread was less than £40, great value for the standard of the food. Would definitely recommend!
The atmosphere, the food and the service is second to none but the value for money is exceptional. It's an absolute must in Edinburgh. It's central location too is great and it is overall one of the consistently good restaurants around.
Good food, great service and great price for lunch. Would recommend. Also house wine reasonable. Will go back again. Lovely time had by all as we're not rushed
Amazing food, great service, warm atmosphere will definitely go again. Glad I booked as it was really busy Really wanted a dessert but just couldn't eat anymore
Food really good waiter was really friendly plenty space down stairs for larger parties nice to see the food being prepared nice menu and you can buy 1/2 carafe wine very reasonable priced
Have been on numerous occassions and never disappointed. staff very friendly, extensive menu, food very good, looking forward to next visit. Quick service. Excellent location.
Great food and excellent service very wide choice of dishes and a wide range of wines. Could do more with cocktails but the basics are all there
