Great service and great food. Would recommend the chorizo bean stew - was an absolute treat! Staff are very welcoming and always make sure you have a great time.

Great meal. Still excellent. Always gone for Tapas. However, it's not the cheapest. Staff are always very friendly. Patatas bravas and meatballs were delicious. Will go again.

Food and atmosphere excellent, staff attentive and delightful, wine good the Australian Chardonnay. Nice atmosphere, fairly busy for a Tuesday, so made it most pleasant

We ate tapas and the food was really good, there were a lot to choose from. It just took a lot of time to reach the table. The service was a bit slow.

I love Bar 61, the food is delicious and in generous portions. Staff are friendly and chatty, and the atmosphere is so warm and comfortable.

Excellent food and service. Very reasonable prices and it is a fun place to visit. I highly recommend Bar 61. Menus are great. Both the main menu and the tapas menu.

Food is excellent, we had a mix of tapas and full meals. It was a Saturday night at 7pm.....the service was slow. They were rushed off their feet.

Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere make Bar61 my favourite restaurant in South London. They have an excellent selection of tapas and the steaks are mouthwateringly good.

The food is amazing with a lovely authentic family feel. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We’ve been here twice now and both times have been awesome! Also great value for money if you have the tapas!!

We had a fantastic meal today at Bar 61. The portions are big so make sure you are very hungry when you go. The service was excellent, the waiter we had is called Tony who is very pleasant and entertaining. The restaurant had an authentic and rustic feel to it. We would highly recommend Bar 61, you will not be disappointed. John and Debbie

A lovely family run business with good service and charismatic atmosphere. The food was delicious and well presented and there was a good variety of dishes to suit all tastes.

Very hospitable. Offered us free olives, liqueur and fresh fruit throughout our meal. Good food . Really fast service. Cosy atmosphere. Very enjoyable dinner. I recommend you try this place if you enjoy fish and seafood.

I love the tapas style of eating and wanted a special place to celebrate one of those big birthday milestones. Trip Advisor showed Bar 61 near the top of all restaurants in London and the reviews were outstanding. I booked a table for a party of 5. Our experience definitely lived up to those excellent reviews - great atmosphere, fantastic food and drink. The owners/hosts couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. And prices were incredibly reasonable.

First time here after reading review on TripAdvisor, it is exactly what other reviews suggested. Friendly and helpful staffs, food is tasty and in good portion. Good value, would recommend.

A very cozy place, service is very personal - makes you feel very welcomed and appreciated. We went with a wide variety of tapas and all of them simply exceeded expectations - everything is super fresh and flavourful. I have to mention the service, since it is the component that turns Bar 61 into a must have experience while in London - our waiter Toni was super helpful and friendly, he went out of his way to care about our well being, while giving us space and freedom of choice. We are definitely coming back.

The pasta was a little bit small, the scalope in mushrooms sauce was spectacular. The attention was also very nice. A good place to eat.

Wonderful restaurant...lovely service and great food. Can highly recommend anyone going to try this place out - a hidden gem in Streatham. Make sure you try the ratatouille!

They gave us a set menu for Valentine’s Day which wasn’t very good I’m afraid. We wanted and expected the tapas menu that we love! I should have checked beforehand but we were disappointed with the quality of the food that evening.

Service was good but quite unimpressed with the food, which wasn't good quality for the price at all. It's a shame as this place had great reviews and I was looking forward to trying it.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good portions and good value for money. We had the garlic prawns to start, which were delicious. My partner had the grilled trout with almonds and a lemon sauce which was amazing. My chicken was cooked to perfection and extremely flavoursome. Only Criticism is the choice of desert was limited.

Good food, great service , lovely place and good relaxed ambience. One of the rare places in London where you get proper professional service from genuine restaurant/service professionals. Been going there for about 15 years! Really good tapas and a nice wine list.

really enjoyed the warmth of the reception by the staff, the atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble, the food was really good quality, like the pulpo, the chipirones all excellent, had a great bottle of rioja. This is not an haute cuisine restaurant and does not pretend to be, but for a lovely night out that cant be bettered. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

There was a very excellent atmosphere; this was helped by the welcoming hosts. Our waiter(the older gent) was very entertaining and ensured we were well looked after. Very intimate restaurant and excellent ambiance. Definitely visiting again.

I was in this wonderful restaurant at the end of September. I found it by tripadvisor and it was a good decision to celebrate the anniversary of me and my girlfriend there. The dinner was very tasty, but the best thing was the service!! If I travel over again to London, I will visit the Bar 61 absolutely again.

Lovely food and staff. Went for a birthday celebration and they even bought out a sparkling candle and had the music on for “happy birthday “

Very friendly Spanish tapas bar serving generous portions of well cooked food. Very quiet on Tuesday lunchtime but was assured it is lively in the evening. More suitable for a party venue than a gourmet outing.

Warm welcome. The food was delivered in good time as were the starting drinks. The food was tasty and our waiter was appropriately friendly throughout. A really nice restaurant for a romantic dinner!

What saves this from being one star is that they recognised how bad their own food was and removed three dishes from the bill. It is a travesty that this is Number 2 in TripAdvisor, while the Dairy, where we are going for a really special meal tomorrow night, languishes in a lowly position. Mussels, supposedly in white wine, but actually swimming in oil, were frozen mussels from New Zealand, serrano ham was prepackaged, whilst scampi meuniere were in some thick white sauce that tasted of wine and nothing else instead of being cooked in butter with parsley and lemon, the chipirones (baby squid) were rather too grown up instead. Service was charming and friendly, and a glass of white Rioja was excellent. Please people, get real and stop rating this restaurant so highly or at least learn what constitutes good food.
