The pretheatre menu was nicely prepared with interesting choices, the price was reasonable, and the service prompt and attentive. We have dined there before, and this was the best meal yet.
The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We love coming to this restaurant as we know we're guaranteed very good quality tapas and great wine selection
Fab food. V gd wine list keen service but not very sophisticated. Good cocktails. A bit warm in back dining room. Suggest you opt for the R hand dining room from front of the property. Genuine place. We will return... in the R hand dining room
Authentic Italian food in pleasant surroundings. The food was of a high quality and there was a good variety of wines on offer. The service was friendly and efficient. Not cheap but good value for money.
Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Prices were reasonable and the food was lovely. Would definitely go back in the future and highly recommend to others
Excellent. A real gem of a place. Proper Italian food, great value pre-theatre 2 course fixed price menu with many choices and above all friendly efficient service. Lovely people.
Lovely food, excellent value and quick service - just what you want for a pre-theatre meal. Always eat here as it ticks all the boxes.
It was disappointing to discover that there was a pre theatre menu on offer after we had eaten. The food we had was good but my wife would have liked a dish on the special menu that was not available on the a la carte.
No free bread? At those prices? Food, service, all-round loveliness good as ever, but come on, throw us poor saps a bone. I know, overheads. Whaddyagonnado?
Delicious food and gracious, attentive staff. The refurbishment is lovely. Looking forward to my next visit. Much better alternative for Italian cuisine than the Carliccio's next door.
Really friendly and amusing service - just after the England-Italy match! Set menu interesting and varied. Try the Verdiccio wine, if there's any left - it's outstanding.
Good value, pre-theatre dining. We usually go there before going to the Orange Tree theatre next door and have always finished eating in good time for the performance without feeling rushed.
Pleasant environment Excellent service ( Nicole was wonderful ) Excellent food Great italian wine list A good all round italian restaurant doing a good just b
Really disappointing overall. The only good thing about the whole experience was the deep fried seafood starter. The main course of tuna steak was small and bland, with a really unusual "citrus dressing" that was basically just very large pieces of orange with the steak. We ended up cancelling dessert after we were left waiting over 40 minutes for the chocolate fondant. The worst thing about this is that we weren't even apologised to,and then had to wait another ten minutes for the bill, which they added a service charge onto even though the service was shocking. The prices charged are definitely not a reflection on the quality of service or food. Would recommend to avoid this place and pop to Pizzeria Rustica over the road instead!
Good food and wine, lovely staff, friendly atmosphere. We booked a table for a pre-theatre lunch after looking at a number of restaurants on-line. We were so glad we chose Bacco, it was easy to find oposite the station, and just a short walk to the theatre. Will visit again.
I Always feel relaxed when eating at Bacco. There is Great food but even more the sevice is superb- on the ball but unobtrusive. What you might call client centred.
The food was great, the staff friendly and knowledgable, atmosphere was welcoming and all in all, we had a nice night out on what was a cold and rainy evening in Richmond. Worth getting wet for ☂️
Small and buzzy with great food. It's not a quiet restful place and the drinks are dear but this is the best Italian food I've had all year.
Very expensive for what it was. Not a great deal of choice especially in main courses. Service could be better Food quality was very good
The starters were very good especially the beetroot carpaccio and the bread was lovely. People were very friendly. Excellent atmosphere to meet, talk and listen to friends
Good value pre-theatre menu with prompt service and a varied menu choice. Carafe wine excellent and also good value. Recommend this as a pre-show meal and it was very busy at 6 00 pm on Saturday with many like minded people creating a buzzy atmosphere.
Great table for 6, towards the back, ambience really nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic - excellent value for money. My main was excellent - pumpkin tortelloni, not too many so not heavy but lovely taste and very fresh, pasta perfectly cooked. Monkfish and sea bream got good comments from others. As ever the wine list is good.
Good food and good service. Have been going for years to Bacco and have always really enjoyed their food. Although it seems not only the decor has changed in the past year but also the food. I remember the spaghetti crab and Tiramisu being very good, but now just good, a bit disappointed. However the atmosphere is still cosy and a good spot for an Italian meal.
Great to see Bacco back on form after the refurbishment; Stefano and his team doing a great job. We'll bac coming back again as we have been for years.
This was a rugby international set menu. With that in mind, it was nonetheless a surprise to receive carpaccio of beef seared to the plate and apple crumble cooked goodness knows how long in advance but inedible around the edge as cemented to the dish.
great food and service!!!! excellent. The atmosphere is great, the people really nice. The food is delicious and the wine list not over-priced. I will be back!
Fantastic food with a short eclectic menu. I had the scallops followed by cote de boeuf. Superb. Lovely atmosphere and service. Definitely recommended as a place of tranquility close to Richmond station.
Set menu as it was Rugby match that day. Not obvious when booked. Tried to serve too many people quality of food was poor. Sent 1st course back as not cooked -poached egg was still very runny and was cold!! Main course pasta was not much warmer though it was cooked.
Delicious , efficient dinner before going to the Orange Tree Theatre very near by. Dinner for four of us served without feeling rushed. Well prepared seafood risotto. Two of our group raved about the liver.
Food and service was great, but restaurant was insanely hot and I couldn't wait to get out. It was a shame as I would only go back in the summer when seating outside is available
We went early before the theatre and it worked perfectly. The food was excellent and the staff pleasant and efficient and we were able to eat in comfort and not feel we had to rush to get to the theatre. Perfect place for supper before the theatre.
We had the pre-theatre menu but found that the food was rather bland. The service was fine. The wine was quite pleasant but rather expensive.
Fantastic food, a good range of wines and attentive service. The scallop starter was a melt in the mouth experience and the past a main curse delicious. Nice atmosphere but layout a little restricted.
Good food, good wine, cosy atmosphere. Wrong wine chosen at first although dome assistance from the sommelier and the bottle we enjoyed complemented our meal perfectly.
Excellent as always. We have visited Bacco several times, for pre-theatre meals and more leisurely dining. They never fail to impress. I would thoroughly recommend.
Interesting well executed menu, good service, and a wide choice of wines. Pasta dishes were unusual with e.g. duck rage pappardelle and burrata stuffed cappelletti. We will be back.
The make over has produced a great atmosphere and the kitchen still produces excellent food. The craft ales from Italy are worth trying but machete at 7.6 per cent needs careful handling.
Food very nice, nice table but very slow service and difficult to get attention. Being sat in the far corner didn't help. Nicely decorated after recent refurbishment.
Book for two but 4 friends arrived unexpectedly and Bacco were happy to accommodate them even though they were very busy. The staff were very polite and helpful. So rate the service very highly. Been there several times and love the food and more than happy to go again. Best Italian in Richmond.
Slow service, bland food with a real lack of meat or fish. One pasta dish contained far too many whole slices of garlic and long thick strands of lemon skin ... Very unpleasant and overpowering. When I order a 'seafood' risotto I expect several pieces of each type of seafood - not 1 mussel out of three shells, two small prawns and no calamari despite the menu saying there was calamari and clams.... Overall a very underwhelming meal. The wine was good though
A lot of fun. Food was delicious. Service excellent. Area in Richmond very respectable. Close to Orange Tree theatre, hotels and Richmond shopping center. Would come again.
My companion and I ordered from the pre-theatre menu which may have been a mistake..fish cakes and salmon both slightly burned/overdone...starter of beetroot and fregola pasta was fine..sweet and sour cheese cake desert pretty good..service a bit lacklustre..certainly not bad..but not sparky..I would only go again if also attending Orange Tree Theatre performance..and I'd order a la carte..making sure to include a pasta dish. Sorry not to be more enthusiastic but I was disappointed overall.
V pleasant welcome and attentive service. Both our dishes (risotto, and tagliatelli with shaved truffle) were excellent. All prompt, leaving us in good time for the theatre!
Food was very nice, if not a little expensive for the portion size. Service was variable, polite but not always quick. Atmosphere was pleasant and location nice and close to the station. House wine was good value.
Menu changes required more assessment as usual fare not available.Hover eventual choices of risotto/peas excellent and other main of salmon reportedly delicious.Well done again Baco Oh and the recommended Italian Suvignon blanc was fresh/fruity
Fantastic service and food. From the fresh, warm bread basket as a starter to the espressos at the end! Very happy with our dining experience and will definitely return. Perfect for pre-theatre dining.
Nice decor and tasty food. However the plates were cold and the door open so the food went cold very quickly while waiting for all dishes and veg to arrive. Water served in tiny carafes so had to constantly ask for more. Wine delicious and good choice. If niggles are ironed out it good be excellent.
Good quality food. The pasta dishes were excellent. Didn't try the dessert. Great wine list with wines from suggested regions of Italy. Friendly service. Will come again
Delicious food and good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Our number one choice when visiting the Orange Tree theatre in Richmond as it is so convenient.
Friendly, Italian welcome, delicious fresh food, very unobtrusive service. Altogether a lovely place to share a wonderful meal with friends and family. A highly recommended gem of a restaurant.
