Great relaxed atmosphere, amazing food and cocktails. Somewhere I return to again and again. The service is super fast and everything is reasonably priced. Little gem of an Italian in Covent Garden.
Just what we expected! Good food and service, nice atmosphere. Would gladly come back and recommend to friends as well. Good option for a quick bite in the West End.
This is a super friendly Italian Tapas bar in the hub of Covent Garden Amazing negronis !! Definitely worth booking as super busy in week
Great place to meet for pre theatre drinks and a light bite. The service was lovely and the service spot on. We will definitely be returning!
Great location as we were going to the theatre. The service was great and the atmosphere too. The food though was amazing! We had a bit of everything and we didn't leave anything. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, great food, great evening! The drinks were fantastic, we sat by the window looking out at busy london and the tapas were small delicious food experiences.
Staff are really friendly. Room is small but ticks all the boxes....and that shower!!! Win. A happy surprise for my partners birthday . . .
Smallish, but Intimate(reservation recommended) A continental cafe type menu(salami, cheese, parma ham, olives etc... Tony the friendly manager made us very welcome. Ideal if your going to the Drury lane theatre. Would definitely recommend.
An excellent venue for a pre-theatre dinner. Italian influenced Tapas style menu means the choice is there to make it as big or small a meal as you might wish, with wine available by the glass, carafe or bottle. Everything we chose was delicious, the service was excellent and the location of the restaurant perfect for any of the Covent Garden entertainments. We have been before and would certainly return again.
Bliss to find somewhere in Covent Garden where I could book a table even in December xmas rush and get a very nice (recommended) bottle of wine and snacks served with courtesy and a smile. Will definitely go again.
Excellent pre theatre food tapas style food, with brilliant service. The restaurant is small and cosy and the Theatre Royal is directly opposite, so very convenient.
Cozy spot, super friendly staff. An oasis in the middle of the Theatre District. Crostinis are a must! Prices are pretty reasonable. Will definitely pop back in next time we come to London.
Ambience was good and tables downstairs quite intimate. Was unsure of the food choices as one needed to understand a bit about the cuisine on offer. To describe it, I suppose it is a bit like Italian cheese tasters in the Spanish tapas style. Plenty of cheese! The table next to us had ordered the meat platter and cheese board and their salad looked very fresh. We shared the cheese platter and the smoked salmon and had the tiramisu. The carafe of merlot was plenty for two people. Although the food was exceptionally fresh and of good quality, the bill was possibly a tad pricey. £63 for the two of us. Full marks to the establishment for not automatically adding the usual 12-1/2 percent service charge. We like to choose whether to leave a tip, not be told. In this case, service was quick, polite and pleasant. Would we go again? Yes, but need to be mindful of the type of food served here. A light lunch perhaps as opposed to a heavy meal. Probably perfect for pre-theatre light bites.
It was a cosy place, with friendly staff. The food arrives quickly, and you weren't hassled throughout the time you're there. The ambience was great, and suitable for the type of place.
Such warm welcome and service Gentleman that served us was extremely knowledgeable with the the menu and recommend a wine to our taste - spot on ;). 10/10 amazing flavours and a great date night place! Felt very taken care of! Superb service!!'
Augustus Harris is a lovely bar serving delicious, good quality italian cicchetti, along with lovely cocktails and wines. The staff were just the right amount of attentive and the place was clean and welcoming. It didn't receive 6/6 only because 1) it was a little too warm downstairs, 2) the tables were slightly too close together and 3) it was really not cheap!
Incredible food, atmosphere and staff. The dining experience was awesome; though the restaurant is quaint, the ambience is perfect for tapas-style Italian cuisine. My only qualm was the shipment of wine we wanted was held up by Brexit. Otherwise, the night out was wonderful.
Was such a lovely little sanctuary in the middle of such a busy area. Snacks and wine good and service excellent - will definitely be coming back!
Very friendly and warm reception. Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back again. Good atmosphere and easy location. Thank you very much . MJ Bassett
Lovely atmospheric little place. Unusual and delicious Italian tapas-style food. Excellent service. Great cocktails. Get their early or reserve a table as it's very small. Strongly recommended
Unimaginative food with no sense of the Venetian experience that one would expect from the hype. The downstairs area is deathly dull and the choice of music grates rather than creates. No second visit from us.
Nice wine, food and atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wine selection was a little limited but the merlot we had was nice and light. Plan to revisit soon.
Lovely food & wine in a great location for the west end. The staff were attentive & knowledgeable about the menu. A great place to meet before theatre.
Excellent food. Cheese board and bruschetta with prucuito was delicious. It's a small place so definitely get reservations. We ate downstairs and was very cool.
Lovely authentic Venetian cafe, excellent for pre or post theatre light meal. Good cocktail menu also. Friendly and helpful staff. Be sure to try every type of crostini.
Excellent fresh food and friendly staff. We will definitely go back there. The dates with cooked ham ate to die for. Very good location if you happen to be taking someone special to the theatre
The only reason it doesn't get 6 stars is because our table wasn't ready when we got there...but it's a tiny place! The tapas and cocktails were fabulous!
Really delightful waitress. Efficient but laid-back (in the good sense) service. Menu was quite straightforward nothing out of the ordinary although the quality of the food and freshness was great. Delicious Trebbiano wine!
Very healthy food and super friendly staff, we enjoyed the atmosphere. This restauarant is ideal for a light pre theatre meal. There is seating at street level but suggest book in advance to guarantee a table.
Staff were friendly, energetic and helpful and the restaurant was calm and cosy with delicious sharing food and wine. Great location as we were off to the theatre afterwards.
Went to Augustus Harris in a group of 8, and I can say that this is easily one of the best Italian tapas restaurants I have ever been to in London. The menu is simple but perfect and the Italian house wine is wonderful. It's also great value - not what you expect in the heart of Covent Garden. The waiting staff were great - attentive - and a special mention goes to Tony who looked after us really well, and even gave me a sample of the cheese that I loved so much to take home :)
An intimate venue with excellent food and really welcoming staff. Myself and a friend shared a couple of the dishes and a bottle of wine and it was reasonably priced.
Best value restaurant I've been to. The food is simply delicious (the buttered anchovies & avocado & prosciutto are particular highlights) and the value is insane (the wine is very well priced and the portions are generous). Perfect for a night out before, after or during the theatre
Fantastic food and service in the heart of covent garden. Wide range of nibbles. Very traditional flavours. A great value restaurant, I will most certainly return.
The stuffed dates are one of the best things I've ever eaten! Extremely high quality ingredients cooked with care. Augustus Harris has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and in my opinion is a bit of an unsung hero in the Covent Garden restaurant scene
Nice cute cozy bar in Covent Garden, atmosphere was good, staff was very friendly and accommodating, good drinks and snack food menus. I'll definitely be back for a good drink.
great sharing platters of crostinis, bruchetti and toasted sour dough bits with various toppings. the negrojis are very balanced, the spritz refreshing and well made. great place and atmosphere, but pricy.
Great ambiance, lovely wine and cheese and really friendly service. We really enjoyed our evening at this little wine bar and will certainly visit again.
Great all plates of tasty food with excellent alcohol choice. Lots of cheese, meat and bread. Perfect for pre opera house. Recommend the buffalo mozzarella
Great atmosphere and buzzing when we went for pre-theatre cocktails and delicious tapas. Would Definately recommend especially as service was fantastic, prompt and charming. Perfect
Our group of 14 people had a most enjoyable time. The food was delicious and staff most attentive. Will definitely return to enjoy the experience again.
Wonderful atmosphere, tasty tapas style food and lovely wine selection. Highly recommended for a sociable evening out! The service was also very good, we were really looked after.
Excellent, low key, relaxed pre theatre or post work wine bar with tasty plates of inventive food. My second visit and it confirms this as my favourite Covent Garden watering hole.
lovely rustic restaurant, very tasty nicely presented plates, very good service, and ambience, what is not to like, great find for chilling out and chatting.
Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, staff welcoming & helpful. Augustus Harris is one of my favourite places to eat or just enjoy a drink with friends.
Lovely atmosphere, especially downstairs. Good food, great service. Love the selection of Italian tapas, very fresh tasty ingredients. The Gorgonzola dates are a must try.
Excellent choice for Pre-Theatre dining. Fantastic Service with great food and cocktails. Will definitely use again when in London. Just a few minutes walk to the Lyceum to see the Fantastic Lion King
The menu was very limited. Not what we had expected. More a snack place. We orders two cocktails and one selection of crostini which took nearly 15 minutes to arrive. The bill for just that was £30.
Gorgeous dinner; avocado, prosciutto and chilli dish is especially yummy. bellinis were fabulous and this is a really nice quiet spot tucked away in covent garden.
This is a real find. small, friendly, great food. If you want something snacky and delicious in the heart of Covent Garden, this is a lovely spot. The staff were great. It is not super cheap but great for a stylish and different light lunch or supper experience.
