Another good visit . Whilst menu doesn’t change variety and quality really top notch . Service timely and friendly. Abso nothing to dislike
Friendly and attentive service. Delicious food and good value for money. A great spot before a theatre show!
Very nice and cozy. Chared some plates and whine with my husband after excellent service! The cheese is to die for and the atmosphare is perfekt for a date with both friends and loved ones!
A lovely little find...very atmospheric and felt away from the hustle and bustle of London. Food was really tasty and the staff very attentive, explaining all our choices when they arrived.
Excellent food. Great background music. Good wine. Avocado and crispy prosciutto was absolutely top - had to have a second helping. Lovely Tiramisu to finish! 👍👍👍
Perfect place for pre ROH light lunch or dinner. Delicious crostini and bean dip. Love the small intimate rooms and the service helpful and pleasant .
Really lovely, cool vibe, absolutely delicious food. The smashed peas on grilled bread, cannelloni dip, anchovies soldiers - amongst other dishes. Would definitely go back!
Absolutely loved it at August Harris. Cosy, great drinks, excellent portions and lovely service. Will definiutely be back for more of the same, but for longer next time.
My go to place in Covent Garden didn’t disappoint. Brought some friends this time and we all enjoyed the tasty snacks and prosecco and the nice atmosphere. Will be back again.
Beautiful and delicious. Was at table nearest the door which was rubbish as there was a constant draft so we moved to downstairs seating which was great, good decor and nicely lit (for some reason the ground floor was dark). Food excellent
Great service, amazing food and wine. We arrived early and it wasn’t a problem at all. Menu offered great choice and the wine was excellent. Really good value, especially as you can order a carafe of wine rather than a full bottle between two. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.
House Red very acceptable but a wine bar with substantial canapés. Not ideal if you are looking for a substantial meal but great after theatre atmosphere and attentive service. A fun place.
This is a perfect pre-theatre spot for a bottle of bubbles and some nibbles. I loved the history and aesthetics of the place and would definitely come back. Service was great, as soon as the glass was empty and on the head the waiter was ready and raring to pour another glass. The only thing that would make it that little better would be that I would have liked to have had more cheese options on the sharing board.
We booked this restaurant as it is near Novello theatre, as we were going to see Mamma Mia show. Love the food and wine. Definitely will be going there again. Great location.
Great wine, food, service and atmosphere. Got a bit warm on the lower ground floor, so could do with a fan or air con to make it perfect!
Cute little restaurant with tasty small plates. We tried one from each part of the menu and all were delicious! And it was busy but not super mobbed. I would highly recommend this place.
Perfect for a light bite before a show, great service and good quality food reasonably priced. Only a few tables so probably best to book.
Lovely small bar with a Great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Food is good but more plates to share than individual meals. All tasty though.
Really good food, wine, service and music - recommend this wine bar - small place really cozy in the middle of west end ! 👍🏻
Great little bar and restaurant, good atmosphere and reasonably priced. Menu a little limited but food quality very good and good service. We will be returning soon.
Lovely intimate place with the nicest staff. The place has a family feel to it. There was a small choice to chose from but all delicious song matched with delicious red wine. Will be back
It was a busy Friday night but we had a reservation, luckily! Staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Food was delicious! Cocktails were perfect! Highly recommend!
We were welcomed by two lovely young ladies We weren’t sure what to order so we were guided what to Have and we had cheese and meat platters salami and prosciutto which was lovely and beetroot and goats cheese with walnut salad plate breads olives and gorgeous wine We went downstairs it was warm Cosy with a nice atmosphere so glad we found this little oasis Italian plates at its best ! The manager was so nice and friendly Thankyou
Excellent light lunchtime food, welcoming service and QUIET so we could hear ourselves speak! Glad to be sitting upstairs - not sure I would like it so much downstairs.
This is a real find! Small and cosy with lovely food and helpful staff. A happy, lively atmosphere. Perfect for before or after visiting the theatre.
Thanks ever so much for a splendid late lunch of a delicious selection of Italian light bites, cheeses, meats, good wine with very friendly service. Highly recommended.
Food was relatively good only issue was we were sat right next to a large group of drunk women. Who were shouting and swearing which was very distracting.
A charming intimate little restaurant, perfect for before or after theatre - directly opposite The Theatre Royal. Upstairs is the bar and a few tables but very noisy with loud music. Make sure you eat downstairs and they are very happy to turn down the music if you ask. Once that’s done, it is all lovely - great food and cocktails! Is currently my restaurant of choice in covent garden
A great buzz and atmosphere. A well thought out menu executed very well . A good quality wine list .The staff are efficient and very engaging. We will be back
Very convenient for after theatre from Drury Lane as open until 11:00 pm. Lowlight intimate atmosphere. Particularly enjoyed the bruschetta and the cheese plate. Excellent glass of primitivo.
Sadly on Friday last we were running late due to the trains. Tried calling the number on their website numerous times to advise to no avail. When we arrived, the table had gone and we were told they don’t have a land line...perhaps they should remove the number from the website then. Luckily a restaurant a few doors away and oppposite the theatre we were going to managed to accommodate us.
Great service and excellent food. Really enjoyed our pre-theater meal there! Good selection of wine but reccommend the cheese platter to go with it. Superb.
Friendly and warm atmosphere. Food excellent. Would recommend to all theatre goers and those looking for good Itslian food and drink. Maitre d great fun Helena and Neo x
Food was good, but very difficult if you are gluten free or vegan. Our table was very noisy , because of a party of six just next to us.
A very enjoyable and relaxing afternoon. I wish I could have stayed longer . Staff we pleasant and helpful. Check out downstairs which is an excellent venue for a small-med group
We had looked for somewhere for a post-theatre meal and saw reviews of Augustus Harris that were overwhelmingly positive, so we booked for last night following the matinee of 42nd Street at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which is directly opposite. We were not disappointed, and enjoyed a great couple of hours here. The food was attractive and tasty, and exactly as described in the menu (which is also online) and a carafe of the rosata wine went down very well too, then the sorbet and finishing with a latte and a cappuccino. The ambience is lively yet cosy, and the waitresses were helpful and attentive. We had a cosy table by the window in the street-level bar area, which was pretty much full the whole time we were there. Overall Augustus Harris was just what we wanted - somewhere interesting for a leisurely meal, a bit different from the usual restaurant chains. We will definitely return if in the area again.
Nice and cosy restaurant I was seated downstairs but unlike others, basement is quite a nice room buratta was very spicy so didn't feel anything and bread from crostini was very hard to chew besides, good food good wine, reasonable prices
Nice atmosphere and service. Appetising food. Perfect for a light pre-theatre dinner. A little guidance on the menu about how many crostini/bruschette to choose might be a good idea.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit (although the music was a little loud for us, but we are of a certain age!) Charming waitresses, and very tasty dishes. Would have preferred the (flavoursome) icecream in a dish. Very much liked the atmosphere.
Cosy surroundings, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Only downside is very limited menu, particularly for evening eating - suggest offering more variety, e.g. range of salads.
We very much enjoyed our experience at Augustus Harris. I was a little concerned about getting enough to eat because it is a small to medium sized dish place. But I was very satisfied when we asked for the check. The only negative was the dessert, gelato in a paper cup. The food and wine were delicious. The service was friendly and competent. I would definitely return if I am ever in London again.
The issue was that the dinner was served rather haphazardly. The last dish was served once we had finished every thing else which seemed to suggest it had been forgotten by kitchen . The coffee never turned up and had to ask twice for the bill. The excuse was that they were really busy , it's Saturday night and of course they will be busy but you have to allow for that What we had was excellent and good value , just final execution was a bit of a drag
Pleasant restaurant, within easy reach of Royal Opera House. Attentive staff - and enjoyable, good value meal. Hope to visit again. Thank you. Janet Brealey
Our Australian friends wanted to revisit before they left for home two days later. Again we had an enjoyable, fresh meal and Maggie has said she will tell all her friends in Perth to visit this establishment when they come to London.
Great food and service, nice area. The prices are reasonable. It is a tiny place so there’s not much noise and that’s appreciable. I’ll recommend this restaurant to some friends.
Friendly staff, we were waited for and all workef out smooth before Namma Mia. Great location to start into a concert night, and super close to novello theatre.
Augustus Harris is an absolutely lovely cafe with a small but rich menu. All of the food we ordered was beautiful food. The cafe has a very relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
The food is incredible and the wait staff is so patient and attentive. Unfortunately I was that terrible patron on the phone for a very long time, but our server came by frequently to top off my glass of wine and ensure we had water or whatever we needed. It was exactly what I needed to endure a long conversation with my sister! They were so great and so was the food!
We had a lovely meal and fine wine as a perfect preamble to our visit to 42nd street. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good experience.
I met two cousins here for lunch in a Saturday. Food was good but most of all the staff were present but not obtrusive as we talked an occupied their table for 5 hours! They were not particularly busy but nevertheless did not make us feel rushed or unwelcome. Well done!
