Great value with Groupon deal ! Disappointed with mussels but steaks were fab !!

I asked for my Fillet medium rare, when it came out it was rare and tough to cut through, I sent it back for a little more cooking, when it came back it was full of fat, something I hadn't experienced with a fillet before and once I had put on the peppercorn sauce it was again uneatable, the sauce was burnt and tasted so bitter. By this time my family had eaten nearly all of their food and although I was offered a fresh dish I declined and ate a bowl of chips. Frustrating as I had looked forward to a good old steak.

Orders were wrong, steaks cooked wrong, had probably the worst porterhouse I've ever had that was fatty and poorly cooked and when I told the lady I was told you should have mentioned it earlier. Would have if we weren't ignored for nearly 15 minutes

Great pizza, very dry simple burgers and poor service, very cold staff. I'd recommend the pizzas for sure if you don’t mind the bad service.

Service was very slow, over 1 hour waiting for main course. Not just my table but others as well. One table got up and left. No reason given by owners, just said our mains were coming. Steaks not overly impressive either.

We had a groupon voucher for lunch for two. Friendly staff, good service and very nice food. Burgers were really meaty and salad really nice too. Good basic meal.

We didn't even stay long enough to eat, the staff were ignorant and almost rude, the waiter took my phone and wandered off to confirm the voucher and within this time took a phone call so we left feeling quite uncomfortable.

Rude staff, mediocre food, wouldn't visit again. It was the first time and a few other people weren't happy with the service either so much that they walked out!

The steak, chips and salad food was excellent and the staff lovely, it was just too warm as we were to the back of the restaurant.

awful ordered the rump steak and asked for well done when it came out it was a generous medium rare. the waiter couldnt understand why we wasnt happy with the order when the food came back the steak was finally well done but they clearlly didnt recook new chips as they were stone cold worst place ive eaten at. less that 2 min later take next to.us had the same problem. wouldnt never come back again.

Food was great as always although a long wait 40 minutes due to being so busy but we were told this when we were seated but all in all very good

Excellent, friendly service. Reasonably priced, good and tasty food. Nice, varied menu especially the starters. Good specials board. Good selection of wines. I think it's wise to book a table in advance. Recommended.

Very impressed with portions size the stake was a little tuff but would recommend the Aberdeen stake house Good value for the price staff friendly and helpful

Very good meat. Very nice service and good atmosphere. I went with a group and we all had lots of fun and would sure come back.

Food OK and cheap. Service OK but waiter seemed a little surly (probably just his way). Restaurant a bit of a throwback to the 70's - wouldn't bother again.

Really bad. The service was bad, the food was awful, we got the wrong order and they never got it right, hot and cramped, just rubbish. Wouldn't bother going. Ever again!

Don't be fooled by the dated exterior, the service, atmosphere and quality of the steak were fantastic, would highly recommend to steak lovers! Try the 12oz fillet!

Very friendly staff and great service. Burgers were really tasty and all freshly prepared with lovely fat chips. Would definitely recommend to all my friends.

Awful experience. My wife and I both had the same starter - prawn cocktail. The prawns were swamped by the sauce and expensive. We both had ribeye steak - my wife's was indeble - mostly sinew and gristle. Mine was also difficult to cut up but edible after a lot of chewing. When we came to pay, we asked for my wife's steak to be deducted from the bill. This caused an argument with the 'manager' who finally agreed to deduct £9.51 from the bill. Needless to say we didn't leave a tip and we will never return there or recommend the restaurant to anyone else.

We went on a fri eve. Restaurant was buzzing service was very welcoming and quick considering how busy it was. Food was great. Highly recommended

Food was good but felt let down by paying £2.50 for a plastic. Bottle of water. If I pay that it should be in a glass bottle

Poor quality food, dated decor and restaurant owners children in and out , even Chris eubank sent his food back! Wouldn't return as lot more nice restaurants to eat in.

Service was slow then after we had finished our meal they were trying to hurry us out. The waiter only offered us the a la carte menu although there was also a cheaper table d'hote one available too. Steaks were good though.

We bought a two course Sunday roast voucher from living social ,they didn't have any Sunday roasts on the menu but offered us choice of sirloin or rump steak .we only had choice of soup to start .the food was very tasty but bit disappointed we didn't get a roast

Steak very tough, not cooked as requested. Service poor, very slow until they thought we were leaving. Would not recommend as overall experience not good.

The food was plentiful and cooked to perfection the 12oz fillet steak was as good as I have had anywhere .The service was excellent nothing was to much trouble .

All the food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Also the service was very good as well nothing was to much trouble we will definatly visit again .

Used my Voucher for two t bone steaks and prawns. not the greatest meal ive ever eaten. staff very friendly and polite but food was very basic. have eaten there before and will again. i did not complain i just expected the wow factor i suppose.

We had a gorgeous steak, cooked to perfection, just how we ordered them, would definitely go again...next time we shall try the mussels, they looked lush, staff were friendly & service was quick.

Food is good (not the best steakhouse but still decent) and the service was excellent. It was for a birthday and they were brilliant! Would definitely go back

Food was good, unfortunately the service let them down. We had only one drink with our meal as no one returned to our table and due to the lack of attention we skipped dessert and left.

The waitress was very friendly, offered us a meal, which was prepared from fresh meat (you can see that as they cut a slice t-bone) there were also wide range of wines, and cakes. Perfect place if your appetite is huge. At overall we are recommended this place.

I was not anticipating a gourmet meal and was therefore not disappointed with the offering. Steak was extremely tough and chips were insipid. The salad was very fresh but full of water. Overall a below average offering from a backstreet cafe.

We enjoyed our meal and general ambience. Lovely service. The food was of a good quality and cooked to perfection. I would definitely visit again.

we arrived early but the table was ready and waiting for us food was good as always came out hot and as ordered apart from the onion rings being forgot this was soon rectified and these followed shortly this was the first mistake in 8 visits so not the end of the world we will return next time we visit Brighton

Such great quality food and wonderful people. The steaks were amazing and the owner as well as everyone else are friendly and want to make sure you get exactly what you want and that you enjoy everything. I highly recommend it!

The food was great as were the staff bit pricey though but would go back again for a treat thank you for the experience !!

It was terrible I would NEVER eat there again service and food was terrible such a shame! Everyone's orders was wrong, waiter was rude, all staff outside smoking, waiters drinking wine and people who came in after us was eating their food before. Lost of complaints that evening shame was so bad as I took my partner there for hes birthday

Food was good, quality of steaks were good, however my minor disappointment was the 3 8oz fillet steaks were all clearly different sizes and weights. It would have been nice to have had the butcher cut the meat correctly and to size. Service was a bit slow, but as we were in no rush it was nice to not be rushed, and the gentlemen serving added a quirky but nice atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit, especially if the butcher gets a new set of scales!!!

it was a nce meal , the food arrived quickly and hot freshly cooked the only thing that let it down their wonderful home made fried onions have been replaced with bought in standard onion rings ! Other than this It was a nice place to eat

Went last night to this Lovely restaurant, the service was straight forward. We found great value was the steak meal with a groupon voucher purchased.

First time back after not eating out for several years, overall awful experience and wont be returning EVER again. Steaks were poor and inedible, couldn't eat them!! Don't ever order the Garlic Pizza Bread, sooo strong made our eyes water Service slow and forgetful & to top things off had to listen to the smoke alarm going off 6 times.

Service was poor, food average, asked for a change of item on menu and told NO, decor very tied. Most people complained the night we were there Never again!

The fillet steak was good. The rump steak was not so good. A meal of 2 halves. Service is very slow. Service was pleasant and friendly, but definitely needs sharpening up.

Fillet was the toughest I have ever had. Side order of onions crap, out of a packet. And Tbone medium rare looked like it had been boiled, no taste and pale looking. Never paid for fillet or onions so fare play but will not return. Before I forget starter of king prawns no taste. Also I removed 10% service charge.
