Great restaurant, authentic Italian food. Must book as it gets very busy and a limited number of covers. The only negative is if there is a large party it does become very noisy. Not a place for a quiet romantic meal.
best food, same or even better than good restaurant in Italy. Price is affordable, or more economy than 1st class Italian restaurant at center of London
Always fresh and tasty food. All made and prepared on site. Highly recommend this restaurant. Good for families, couples and friends. Small menu with plenty to offer.
I have been going on and off to this restaurant from very soon after it opened. I love it. Their food is great, authentic genuine Italian regional food, menu changes regularly, quite simple dishes, high quality ingredients. incredible value as you would pay a lot more in the West End, great value wine list and friendly professional service. Unfortunately there is one very small point that is a serious problem and causes many of my friends not to go there. It is a very small restaurant and very very noisy. If there is a party or large group there then you cannot have a proper conversation with the people on your table and this spoils one's enjoyment. I regularly tell the staff to invest in a carpet or something and they smile at me, but it really is a big problem. Very very unfortunate as this is an outstanding restaurant.
Great menu selection and all the dishes were very tempting. You can mix and match mains and starters as smaller portions to try out more dishes. It's a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere with lots of regulars. Great value for money too. We would definitely return.
Second visit to 500 restaurant and the food was even more amazing than the last visit. I will be returning for a third, fourth and even fifth visit. This place never disappoints! Thanks again 500 for great food and a lovely evening. 5 Star!
One of the best Italian Restaurants in London offering authentic Italian cuisine. The staff were really friendly. It was our first time at 500 and will definitely not be our last. We will definitely recommend 500 to our friends and family.
Fabulous food and service. The tinted windows may well stop some people popping in but what a hidden gem! Three courses and a glass of prosecco for under £40 including service - wonderful!
Great food and nice atmosphere. My gnocci with shaved summer truffle was outstanding and my friend said the frito miso was delicious and good value for money
This was a really disappointing meal from a restaurant that we had been looking forward to visiting for some time. Disappointment started with the bread, which was stale and ordinary. Starters of octopus and crab were uninspiring. The mains were ok and the best things out of a mediocre meal. The ice cream was atrocious for an Italian restaurant - completely tasteless. It cost £100 for two - albeit with alcohol included, but that was 2 glasses apiece, not even a bottle. It was extremely poor value for money and we won't be returning.
Excellent meal, had a lovely evening! The staff were really welcoming and engaging. Between us we shared lots of 'mini' starters which allowed us to try them all which were all delicious. Would go again!
Excellent as always. I particularly like being able to have two small starters. The crab was very fresh and tasty. Had veal pasta as a main.
The food was excellent. Really couldn't have asked for more. But the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired as it's very cold and doesn't reflect the delicious warming food.
Unfortunately our experience didn't live up to the reviews I had read prior to making this booking. We were a small group of three plus my 5 month old grandson celebrating a birthday. The restaurant is small and cosy and staff friendly. However the starter of Octopus was rubbery and tough; crab starter was tasty; rack of lamb was tough; stone bass tasted burnt, which my daughter didn't finish; rabbit was ok; tiramisu average, I've had better. The restaurant was very accommodating as we had a buggy, however there was no disabled toilet facilities, which proved difficult when we had change my grandson's nappy.
Relaxed local restaurant with excellent Italian food. Helpful pleasant service, tolerant of slow dining - much appreciated in these days of "we need the table back by.." Good ingredients, diverse menu - eveything was good.
We had beef carpaccio and octopus, followed by rabbit and lamb chops. Prosecco and chianti, with desert and coffee. Monday is a quiet night. Service was fine
Very good Italian country food consistently over the years in an unlikely location in up and coming Archway. Service is agreeably discrete in a relaxed atmosphere of locals eating good value food. ~The plates could be hotter in my view.
Very helpful cheerful staff in a modern plain setting. Sharing platter looked and tasted great. Mains were fine vegetable sides of spinach and potatoes were ordinary. Tiramisu was excellent. Enjoyed two types of roses. The most expensive on offer was good.
Service is always friendly .the menu is always wonderful and great selections. Assistance is given in selecting wines and drinks and the venue is comfortable.
Wonderful plate of fresh pasta completely filled both of us up. Good strong Aperol Spritzs and some fresh mint tea to complete the meal. A delicious meal and good service and no two hour sitting. My friend, who lives a few tube stops away is planning to return with her husband. Thanks for a lovely evening. I'll be back soon.
The food, service and ambience were wonderful, though one of the waiters needs to understand the difference between sizes of wine glasses! Worth travelling to: it's only a few minutes walk from Archway tube
Absolutely brilliant place to eat. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and we have never had anything but totally divine food every single time. Simple, elegant, good value and high quality all the way. A gem of a restaurant.
The staff were excellent and the food was wonderful--my friends and I all had fish and a white wine that was recommended which was perfect. Really special meal and lovely experience.
Absolutely wonderful evening . The food was delicious and cooked to perfection . The chef came to check about my garlic intolerance at the start and then came again to see if all was well with the food whilst we were eating .
Consistently great meals here. Tuna dish was divine. Service is friendly. Pasta is fresh and perfectly cooked. 500 remains one of my favourite North London Italian restaurants.
I always look forward to eating here - 500 delivers a perfect combination of great food, service and ambiance. We usually meet friends, so I particularly love that you can hear each other speak.
very welcoming the food is excellent enjoyable we had a full menue of excellent food the service was good and they were very welcoming irs abit of a desertt for good food in that area
Really enjoyable evening; staff were friendly and attentive. Food was very good and some was exceptional. WIne is well chosen and well priced. Would definitely recommend to friends.
We enjoyed our evening at 500 very much and we will definitely go again. The food was delicious and the staff very welcoming and helpful.
Great food and service with a smile. I am required to add more words but there is really nothing to add to this short sentence!
One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Small place but well worth a visit. Food is top notch. Affordable wine list. No pretensions. Recommend highly.
Wonderful restaurant, delicious food, interesting menu and wine list. I have come here many times over the years and it gets better and better. Bravo.
Fabulous food - I only wish my dining companion were more 'live to eat' than 'eat to live' so I could have lingered longer and sampled pud etc. 'Small' starter sizes were more than adequate for me as a (normal size) starter - I ordered two, as the menu suggested, but would have been happy with one. Can only imagine how huge the regular size portions are! Still, it meant I sampled both the stone bass carpaccio and the smoked duck, both of which were excellent. The guinea fowl for main was also superb. Got dragged out before I could launch into the rum and raisin gelato - a shame as that was my family's preferred xmas pud when I was small...
Excellent food but seats bit uncomfortable. Limited but great menu. Service good not great due to 1 waiter who wasn't good wold go again however
food excellent - service willing but inexperienced - still very much recommend - and don't see why there has to be a minimum of 25 words
Visited Friday 10th Feb; excellent genuine Italian food, good atmosphere and service. We had the mixed starter to share which was delightful as was the sea bass on fennel and orange salad watered down with a beautiful Montelpucciano D'Abruzzo 2015. Will definitely return.
500 always has the best dishes at very affordable prices. Best Italian restaurant in North London. Very pleasant environment and friendly staff. Looking forward to our next visit.
Nothing disappoints - the staff are great, there is a nice atmosphere and the food is very good indeed. And the bill comes as a pleasant surprise!
Very good, affordable Italian food and no pressure to be in a rush (unique in London). The pasta dishes were all a hit with everyone.
A hidden gem in the heart of the local area. 500 restaurant offered us an unreal dining experience from start to finish. The service, food and atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday evening outing. The tiramisu was a little piece of heaven on Earth and as for the venison stuffed pasta. By far the best I've tasted outside of Italy. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant and intend on dining here again in the near future.
The food is excellent and interesting, but the wine is average and overpriced. And it's very noisy and difficult to hold a conversation. But we still go back.
excellent food. Beautiful presentation. Good and well priced wine list. Great value for money overall. The guinea fowl was beautifully cooked and too much for me to finish- very unusual!
This is an excellent restaurant! Very good Italian tasty food and wines and nice atmosphere! The prices are ok and the place is close to Holloway Road!
My favourite haunt in Archway. The food is out of this world and the service always friendly and welcoming. A must if you love REAL Italian food.
One of the best real Italian restaurants in London - well worth the trek to Archway (it's really neat the station, so once you are on the tube, no further to go than the west end! Excellent cooking, friendly staff and great value.
Gorgeous food & a hidden gem in Holloway. Some of the nicest Italian food this side of Milan. I cannot get enough of the deep-fried ravioli & their pasta is heavenly.
Both my friend and I had very disappointing meal. The fish was so lemony it was inedible and the pasta with crab was watery and tasteless
Lovely place. Food was very tasty and interesting. Not too pricey ( a main pasta dish is £12). Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Booking for weekend is essential.
Excellent food and service. This place always delivers. The wine was great too! As usual (when I've by been before) the place was full - on a Tuesday night.
The food and service were outstanding. Everyone in our party enjoyed the evening the restaurant was full and had a lovely, buzzy atmosphere. I found the chairs a bit hard and uncomfortable but otherwise all good.
